Shame I don't live in Croydon I would love to drive a tram . Who says you have to live in Croydon? Many people live far away from their work place now, I Know people who travel from the New Forest and Oxford to get into London everyday. EDIT. Vacancy is closed now anyway. It said in the link that applicants must live within a hours travelling time. Tramlink obviously feel that they can be more selective with a lot of people wanting to drive trams although staff turnover seems to be very high and of course driver fatigue is a top priority after the fatal accident at Sandilands.

20 years ago today Tramlink opened I was there, by a fantastically lucky coincidence, in time for the first tram - just wish I'd had a camera because I've never seen a published photo of the first public journey. I desperately wanted to buy a ticket, but all rides were free and ticketless. Never have I cursed more not being able to pay

What's up with the trams today? A 15 minute gap at Wimbledon. No trams between Wimbledon & Morden Road then 3 in a convoy along the single track section

According to the 2020-2021 TfL Budget from April 2020, TfL have started a project to replace the CR4000 trams. Was not aware that they were due to be replaced. Anyone have any more info on this or is it too early to tell yet? content.tfl.gov.uk/tfl-budget-2020-21.pdf (Page 31)

The stated aim in 2014 was to replace them with longer trams. Not sure if that is still the case.
