Yes, from the same source, this is the last day of 611. It amazing that TFL have been withdrawing a lot of school route the ones that I know is the 618 and the 619 can any one tell me the other school route that have been withdrawn The 618 and 619 were temporary routes from what I gather, as the school concerned moved temporarily to a different site whilst the original was rebuilt. The 611 is being withdrawn as the extended 112 covers it (although I know that some people will argue that the 112 will not be adequate for the schools traffic).

The original 689. School routes are pretty expensive to run and often improvement to normal day services render then not so needed.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this ... from tomorrow 11-July capacity of London's bus will be revised: Double decks - 30 passengers (or 35 in groups) Single decks 10+m - 14 passengers (18 in groups) Single decks <10m - 11 passengers (14 in groups)
Standing is still not permitted unless you are accompanying a buggy or wheelchair. No mention about capacity on <9m vehicles so I'd assume they will come under the 11 passenger limit

604 [Thornton Heath / West Norwood - Davidson Road] (temporary route during relocation of school) 609 [Hammersmith - Mortlake] (killed off by bridge closure, although I suppose it could come back if the bridge ever reopens) 620 [Biggin Hill Valley - Charles Darwin School] (one of the shortest routes, only ran in one direction - uphill!)
622 [West Drayton - Ruislip] (very short-lived route, don't know what route it took nor why it was withdrawn after less than a year) 630 [New Addington - Coney Hall] (withdrawn due to school closure although one branch of the route became the 664) 636/637 [Kemnal College - Bromley] (variants of 638) 641 [West Molesey - Teddington School] (mentioned above) 644 [Wood Green - Crouch End] (part replacement for withdrawn W2, didn't last long) 647 [Romford - Harold Hill] 653 [Thamesmead - Woolwich Common] 670 [Romford - Corbets Tey] (replaced by DD journeys on 370, which is now all-DD) 683 [Northwood Hills - Pinner] (replaced school journeys on 183, didn't last long) 684 [Wood Green - Barnet] (DD journeys on 84A/184, withdrawn without replacement) 689 [West Norwood - Earlsfield] (mentioned above, mostly covered by 690) 691 [Ham - Surbiton] (mentioned above) 693 [Green Street Green - Priory School] (part replaced by 654??) H1 [Golders Green - Henrietta Barnett School] (mostly replaced by 631) H16 [Hatch End - Pinner] (mostly replaced by DD journeys on H12, which is now all-DD)

VH45250 has also been done. Apparently the change actually came into effect from the 4th but the label printing company have had a delay and backlog ... 10000 new stickers have had to be printed ... again!

Does TfL really need to waste money on these stickers! Let's face these limits are not being enforced. I assume another 10000 will be needed in a few weeks. Very wasteful. Why not just use social media to announce the new limits.

I remember both the 604 & 689 well - for the 604, it came about after Stanley Tech temporarily moved from their site at Norwood Junction to the temporary one on Davidson Road whilst the old one was demolished to make way for a new school which was complete in 2007 and renamed Harris as part of the collection of Harris Academy schools. A good move as Stanley Tech was well known as a rough school. Anyway, the 604 was an interesting route with journeys running from the school as far as Windmill Road before splitting with some heading to Upper Norwood, Palace & West Norwood and the rest going to Thornton Heath & Thornton Heath Pond - L's started it off with DLA's continuing for the majority of it's tenure. As for the 689, I only remember it during it's Arriva days but I know it has a rich history for a school route starting off as the 189 and over time being downgraded until becoming a schoolday route in 1985 before losing the section beyond Burntwood School in 1991 and being renumbered in 1994 before gaining two extensions at the Brixton end and the 690 offshoot later on. The odd thing about it's withdrawal and the 690 is the 689 actually served one extra secondary school on the unique section via Tulse Hill whereas the 690's unique section didn't serve any extra schools.

My question is can they be reapplied in the unfortunate case of a second wave?

The 189 started in January 1951 as a part replacement for a tram route, initially it ran between Cannon Street and South Wimbledon (North Cheam at peak times). The off-peak service between Cannon Street and Clapham Common was withdrawn in 1956. Although in its chequered career it managed forays out to Raynes Park, Worcester Park and even Esher, it was never a particularly frequent route and by November 1985 had been whittled down to school journeys only. It was renumbered 689 for the September 1994 school year. The 189 was notable for being one of the routes withdrawn temporarily during the London bus crews' overtime ban in January and February 1966. Wimbledon Coaches was granted a licence to operate a temporary service between Clapham South Station and South Wimbledon which commenced on 7th February and lasted until 18th March.

I don't see how it's wasteful at all providing clear signage and most drivers are enforcing limits, I saw a driver on the 53 at Elephant & Castle just a few hours ago refusing to let excessive numbers of passengers on board. Government advice on public transport couldn't be clearer....... don't use it unless your journey is essential and use a face covering and yes obviously lower limits will be reapplied if necessary. It's a fast changing situation and credit it where it's due I think TfL have done a good job with the appropriate signage.

I'm sorry but it's not being enforced in most parts of East London but not getting into a debate as anything said about this part of London always seems to be questioned. I really don't see why generic passenger limit vinyl stickers couldn't be used for example saying passenger numbers are currently restricted, it would have saved constantly reprinting them! After all TfL have no money!

If there aren't specific limits quoted on stickers it puts drivers in an impossible position.
