This is actually the ugliest bus I have ever seen... I honestly didn't think the Gemini 3 could get any worse. The bottom half of the front looks like an E400 MMC and the top half is just an absolute flop. The stair windows are disgusting, if they want to have windows there then at least make it curve like the NBFL. From the rear, it looks like my 4 year old brother tried to draw an old style Gemini 3 (ikr, it's already 'old'). Stagecoach better not order any of these pieces of crap... The fact that the Gemini 3 has to be restyled after less than a year in production says a lot in itself. Disclaimer- What I've said is my personal opinion and is not intended to offend anyone in any way whatsoever. I just lol'd when I read this. Pretty much as these were my initial thoughts on the vehicle. I still fell the current gemini 3/streetdeck design is far better!! The current Gemini 3 to the new Gemini 3 is what the NBFL is to the Omnidekka/current Gemini 3. Or if you're not a fan of the NBFL, then the E400 to the Omnidekka/current Gemini 3. Depends on your preference but you get the point. PS- I guess for most, the current G3 to the new G3 is what the E400 is to the NBFL.

Omnidekkas are alright despite some who may hate them but this restyled Wright Streetdeck is the worst looking bus I've seen. The front has a dodgy looking pillar from front to back with the windscreen bottom being similar to E400 MMC which Wright had messed up with the dodgy Wright logo that seems to connect to the headlights. Hope Arriva doesn't order these for London service but they probably will.

Strictly speaking, this isn't exactly related to the topic but was just wondering, how many orders has the Gemini 3 had compared to the E400 and E400 MMC? Could a lack of orders be at least partly responsible for the restyle?

And doesn't it say on the article that both the Streetdeck and Gemini 3 are to be restyled? I know it's not the main reason but it may be at least part of the reason.

I only just read the text now, before I was more horrified at the ugly design and the shock of it, it came from the Dark Side of the Force in Star Wars Stated Streetdeck & Gemini 3, failed design imo, the current design is fine.

I reckon they realized is was too heavy in comparison to the Metrodecker ... so needed further reworking.

All manufacturers, no matter of how well their products are selling, regularly refresh or update their range to keep the product fresh and one step ahead of the competition - for instance, see how much the Ford Fiesta or Vauxhall Corsa has changed in recent times, despite both being strong sellers. Having looked at the StreetDeck (not my 2S, lol), it looks like it's trying to keep abreast or slightly ahead of the MMC, whereas the MetroDecker is more conservative, like a sensible pair of M&S trousers, than trendy SuperDry gear We have to keep checking Flickr or the Yahoo groups to see when any more pix of a closer to production model will look when complete... it's only next week, lol

I wonder if the Gemini3 delivered to date have been an interim version, the rear was restyled and the sides had the lower height windows, but the front was basically a carry over from the Gemini2. Have Wrightbus now had time to change the front design. From memory Dublin bus are still choosing the original early front design (probably reduces spares).
From a manufacturing point of view you want as many standard parts as possible between types, conversely the more differences the more spare parts you might sell as cannot be switched as easily (but with whole life costs as a basis for product choice should be neutral)
