I really like the citaro design. Mercedes never fail to impress! I think bendy buses should come back to London but include conductors at the doors to reduce fare evasion. Fare evasion is still taking place on those NBFL (New Routemasters). Recommended routes should be 18, 25, 123, 148, 149, 207, 390, 436, 453, 521, and 607. I think these routes have capacity related issues. Mini Rant about 207/ 607 passengers: The amount of people who will wait 15-2mins for a 607 at Shepherd's Bush Station to go two to three limited stops, instead of taking any of the three 207 buses that have arrived and departed in that space of time. Unbelievable!

Unbelievable! That will be just as much waste as withdrawing them and introducing LTs, most LT routes are OPO so Conductors on Bendy buses is also a waste, you would need 2 for each door. Ordering 800 conventional Hybrids would have been better than LTs the New "Free" London Bus... I cant see them lasting past 2025... Imo withdrawing them was the best thing because they were overcrowded, caused delays and invited groups of Police and Revenue at bus stops holding up every bus that goes past.

As much as Citaros are nice, I'm afraid I don't want Artics back on conventional routes except for the 507 & 521. They were excellent on those two routes but I'm afraid they were a nightmare to use on other routes.
One thing I will say is at least you won't cooked alive on a Citaro.

Unbelievable! Indeed Mercedes never fails to impress! I'm agree that articulated buses (bendy buses) should come back to London however your argument on introducing conductors (passenger assistance) to tackle the fare evasion will not work as it would cost TFL a lot of money. Thus, NRMs are mostly OPO (one person operation). Anyways, TFL really needs to introduce articulated buses back on to Route 25 as that route is simply overcrowded and it was a stupid idea to replace that with double deckers.

I really like the citaro design. Mercedes never fail to impress! I like the Citaro exterior design. I do not like the interior design, of the old model anyway like the ones on the X26. The Citaros have the most untidy arrangement of seats I've seen on a bus ever. Towards the rear on the left hand side, some of the seats nearest the windows are higher than the adjacent seat next to it. They are also higher the equivalent window seats on the right hand side. This is because of untidy boxed intrusions into the cabin that means some seats have to sit higher than others but it is oddly not symmetrical on both sides. This also makes finding a comfortable position for your legs awkward. It really is an appalling piece of design. I expect more from Mercedes. Hopefully it has been sorted out in the new version of the Citaro.

Many people take the first bus that comes.

Unbelievable! You missed out the 192 It would be good to see Citaro's again, but I'd keep them out of Central London, especially as they are terrible at blocking junctions due to their length... plus TfL are too busy wasting our money on the LT's, so we now have double-decker freebuses instead of single-deck ones

Some of the euro5 engined artics from the 453 should have been kept behind for the 507 and 521 where they could've been used for 10 to 15 years.

Routes like the 34, 112, 140 , H91 would all be suitable , nice big straight roads for much of their routes, plenty of other examples outside Central London.

Unbelievable! Conductors on the doors on bendybuses would just be ridiculous, far simpler for everybody to board by the front door past the driver surely? As for the 207/607 do you really spend that much time watching what other passengers are doing?

I would say the 25 was much better without artics, and it no longer gets swamped with freeloaders.............how exactly is that stupid?

Wouldn't the responsibility of the doors fall to the driver? After all the doors would be closed when the vehicle is in motion. The conductor can simply do fare checking/collection.
