Well saw this bus today. It's a merc sprinter with purple vinyl. Started operating this week. www.ultrabus.co.uk still not sure of the point but details on the website £8 single from Muswell Hill to Canary Wharf with only one departure. Can't see how that's going to work. Bus and tube is about half that cost albeit a more awkward journey. Or £3450 for a annual return ticket - they are certainly optimistic.

£8 for a single vs about £4. If I was living in Muswell Hill in a million pound house pulling in stupid money in a finance position in CW then, yes, I would pay the £16 a day to be able to sit down rather than over an hour of standing up on a 43/134 and two tubes. Still cheaper than two cabs/uber. It is clearly going for that executive market, the area can supply it. I'm sure I've put this in a post on this thread already but that journey via Hihggut or Finsbury Park is a total f-star-star-star-etc at 8am. On a bad day you'll be standing on the bus, standing all the way down on the Northern Line and standing again on the Jubilee Line.
£3450 for an annual seems like a reasonable proportional upscale of the single daily fares but, no, I can't see them shifting any in a hurry. People will try it though.
