Ok so this isn’t very imaginative but I would choose a former 126 Plaxton Pointer Dart slf.
There are a couple of reasons for this. The biggest being that they were my buses on my route for 10 years. They were only a couple of years old when I started driving them and they were at the time the best buses in the garage and I drove them right up to the day DT lost the 126 (the last one I drove was 3295)
But I feel like they are important for a couple of other reasons. I’m not familiar with what was bought and operated throughout the rest of London but these Y reg darts were the last to have a proper 6 cylinder engine (probably not the very last but you know what I mean)
They were also proper Plaxton body on Dennis chassis before it all became transbus and then finally ADL.
Restore it to classic Arriva blue and cream. Tip up seats, original blinds with abbreviations on!!
I have a photo but I’ve no idea how to add photos to this reply from my iPhone!!

The 126 was the route I knew for longest, from shortly after my birth for sixteen or seventeen years travelling from home (Eltham) to grandparents (Bromley) every week, then when we moved to grandparents' house following the death of my grandmother, later still using it to get from new home to job in Beckenham. A little later, following marriage and moving to a bedsit near Beckenham Junction, I used to sometimes make the journey in the evening back to my parents. Most of the time the good old RT AEC Regent was the vehicle, but later we got AEC Merlin singledeckers (an over-maligned bus) then the DMS Fleetline. Ideally, I'd find an RT that had worked at TB, preferably with route box and Saunders body.

No one's mentioned EW's Y/51 reg VPLs and BT's VLPs??? Maybe just a personal thing because I get all nostalgic when I remember them (Yes I get nostalgic over those VPLs, I'm only 17 ) and would love to preserve those for when I'm older knowing those were among the first buses I ever rode on.

I'd take a 53 reg VLP particularly the best that was VLP26 Never rode the Y & 51 reg versions so can't comment.

Agreed - I'd love to preserve VPL213 which was the very final VPL I rode on at EW in its last few weeks of it being at EW, I believe it is still around and owned by Keane Travel and does make occasional visits to London, of which I saw it once on one of my ventures down into Central London.

I love to have preserved VPL178, 207, 208, 209, 218, 222 and 232 because they were all at HD. I wonder what happened to them.

VPL178 - Unknown - No pictures of it after it left Metroline VPL207-209/232 - With London City Tours - Should be up for sale with the rest of the LCT fleet VPL218 - With Redbridge Transport - Last pictures of it date 2016 so could be gone but could also still be with them VPL222 - With ASD Coaches - Registered Y13ASD and mainly on schools seemingly as there is not many pictures of it All (except maybe 178) seem to still be around so could be good candidates for preservation, more VPL218/222 then anything as they still have their full roofs, although aren't for sale like 207-209/232 currently are.

I would love to get an ex London B9TL Wright Gemini 2 from any operator and convert it into a static Aquarium. The wheelchair bay and all the passenger seats on both top and bottom would be replaced by aquariums. And the B9 would be placed in my back garden. I wonder one would fit in my garden. It would be airlifted in of course.

I would have wanted to have preserved a dennis lance. Preferably the Northern Counties Paladin that were on the 113 in the 90s and the J-WSC Alexander PS that were on the 145 and other BK routes at the time.
