They’re not going for scrap - just into warm storage. I’ve heard a couple may be moving to Worksop If they were refurbished, they would be perfect for a line like the Retford to Sheffield via Worksop line.

The Networkers were my childhood. Wasn't they the last things BR ordered.? IIRC yeah.

Would be better to add OHLE and use the ex GN class 365s

Worksop would be for storage (there is a big yard there that used to hold lots of merry go-round coal hopper trains) and an associated servicing depot. Some of the Crossrail 345s were stored there, as are some of the new 701s for SWR due to lack of suitable spare sidings in the South London suburbs

Once they've been handed over to SWR I believe

There was talk a while ago of SE launching an all day London Blackfriars - Maidstone East via Elephant & Castle mainly a 6 car services next year either May or December until TL launch there Cambridge - Maidstone East/Ashford. Maybe the 465/466’s going in to warm storage will be brought back for these services or once the Chart Leacon depot is commissioned

I’d be cautious citing this blog as a primary source as its “news” here was ripped off from another forum without credit (not sure what the policy is here on linking to other forums).

Just have to wait and see but it’s good SE are going to launching it via a revised plan first. At the moment our Ashford based drivers have to pass to Orpington/Sevenoaks for the 9K/9Y service groups

New announcement from Southeastern - "New trains for Southeastern passengers returning to rail in south east London and north Kent". Southeastern will be introducing their Class 707 fleet of trains on metro services to Dartford, Sevenoaks and Hayes, beginning in Autumn 2021. newsroom.southeasternrailway.co.uk/news/new-trains-for-southeastern-passengers-returning-to-railThey have also released mockups of the exterior and interior of the Class 707. The black window surrounds on the new livery is a nice touch, though I can't say I'm a fan of the blue on the body and doors. The colours should ideally match the Class 375/377 livery. It's interesting to see that these trains will also be receiving a new seat moquette, the same design found on the Networker Class 465/466.

Hope not 455's and 456's. Will miss the 707's a lot.

The 458s will be rebuilt and replace 442s on Portsmouth services

I think there should be 90 Class 701 units in total.
