Interesting. What prompted this was that there was talk of the Woolwich/Bexleyheath Line losing the Charing Cross service as difficulties routing trains on to the Tanner Hill Junction, we now find out there is an alternative and that it is possible for the Charing Cross service to call at New Cross. The loss of Greenwich to Charing Cross is significant. That idea to axe Charing Cross trains has thankfully been binned off, hopefully never to return, doubling the Tanners Hill fly down was the whole point of keeping CX trains through Lewisham. On some engineering days if Cannon Street is closed, there are CX trains from the Greenwich line, I’m pretty sure they use the North Kent East junction same as Thameslink does now and also same as when CX trains used to run from that line, though I’m not sure

4 extra trains each way is such a lame substitute for the Maidstone East to Cambridge Thameslink services that were supposed to happen.

Why didn’t that service happen?

Why didn’t that service happen? I think this was due to not enough stock which was due to the Luton - Rainham service being added and also there was no where to stable trains at Ashford which is why Southeastern is being tasked to run at least 1tph all day but may be put on hold again (it was added but taken down in relation to the 377’s, the two 377/1’s will be heading back to GTR soon & Hopefully the 377/5’s will stay longer and if/how many 465’s return from store)

And class 700 wheelchair ramps have been installed at some stations, possibly all stations? It's a shame this service isn't happening, there have been calls for a London Bridge service ever since the Ashford to Cannon Street service was withdrawn. Are there any plans to restore the 2tph Southeastern service Monday to Friday off peak?

The line between Brixton and Beckenham Junction will close for nine days in July, from Saturday 23rd July through to Sunday 31st July. There will be no train service at West Dulwich, Sydenham Hill, Penge East and Kent House. Services at Brixton, Herne Hill and Beckenham Junction will also be affected.
The closure will allow track replacement in Penge Tunnel, other works will take place along the closed section at the same time. Almost 4,000 metres of track will be replaced during the closure.
The nine-day closure, which takes place at a time when travel demand is lower due to school summer holidays, will save the equivalent of 18 weekend closures that would be required.
Southeastern will publish details of service alterations and alternative routes closer to the time.

Yes the new sidings are being built but it’s all gone quiet about the GTR services which does seem it’s been binned as a service, regarding 700/707 ramps there installed across the whole SE metro network, not sure if there’s any beyond Otford towards Ashford, the compromise is the Blackfriars - Maidstone service at this moment in time which does question the TL Ashford Depot

Southeastern are giving out on board questionnaire for customers to fill out on their HS1 services. First time I've ever been asked to fill out a survey like this on any train operating company.

I think I saw questionnaires being handed out along the Dartford-Cannon Street service a couple of weeks ago in the morning rush. Wasn’t handed one though
