I'm not sure if people take this thread as a joke or not, but it does feel as some changes are for the sake of it. What's next, renumber the 7 to 007 just because it passes Bond Street so it can have an association with James Bond?! Most useless ideas are from you though...

Because I consider this to be a fantasy thread. After all, changing route numbers is costly and confusing so it can only be considered as a fantasy thread. Hence why I don't take it seriously.

Again the irony

Again the irony There is a real 007 route : National Express run it from Victoria to Dover. It is said that Ian Fleming was influenced by seeing East Kent’s 007 bus route when creating James Bond (he lived out that way). Of course how true that is, we shall never know truly...

TfL should introduce a route number 999 which, unlike the rest of the network, we can only use in an emergency.

TfL should introduce a route number 999 which, unlike the rest of the network, we can only use in an emergency. And it can only stop at hospitals, police and fire stations

Again the irony The next James Bond film, Stockfall, where 007 has to travel across London by bus rescuing the financial markets from a reckless Government, is due out for Xmas. Only the buses need to change, rather than the route number. PDL145 is the refurb float for EN38 in this exciting thriller with Stormzy as Kwasi Kwarteng

Hence why I don't take it seriously. So, if you consider this unserious and a fantasy thread, why did you then say: “I'm not sure if people take this thread as a joke or not, but it does feel as some changes are for the sake of it. What's next, renumber the 7 to 007 just because it passes Bond Street so it can have an association with James Bond?!”

The irony in this post is just hilarious Think of the money in marketing this! A tie up with Pinewood Studios in sponsorship can help pay for the hydrogen. And as TfL are so good at branding... A special 666 schools route can run during Samhain/Halloween by Edmonton Garage using resurrected EN's from the 382 "The name's Bond. Bond Street."

All routes serving Heathrow should be renumbered to represent an airliner that currently, or once flew into LHR ;-)
National Express lead the way with their 747 route Brighton-Gatwick-Heathrow (round of applause emoji)
111 is fine - no need to change (BAC 1-11) A10 is an aircraft but problematic as military (US military A-10 Thunderbolt nicknamed "Warthog") Action: route to be changed to 737 as in Boeing 737 X26 will be changed to the currently unused 10 (as in DC-10) 285 will be changed to 121 (as in Hawker-Siddeley HS.121 Trident) - Action: Enfield to renumber 121 U3 to be changed to 146 (as in BAe146) Action: Referendum to be held in Downe and Keston to select a new route number

Some may even tut.

The 189 and the 221 should swap numbers - so that the 221 can serve 221B Baker Street! Or alternatively leave the 189 alone and extend the 221 to Baker Street via 29 and 274
