It seems to me that Go Ahead generally prefer ADL for electric/hybrid vehicles and Wright for diesel. Most recent hybrid DDs for GAL have been EHs. While outside of London, Go Ahead have mostly ordered Streetdecks for DDs. In Brighton, these E40Hs ordered are the first new hybrids for a while, they may not have switched to GAL as all other newish DDs at Brighton&Hove are diesels. Similarly with SDs, Go Ahead have generally opted for WSs as diesels, but SEes as electrics. So I would expect the 232 to get WSs, plus EHs for the 197. I guess B&H were not impressed with the first StreetDecks they ordered that couldn't crack 50 though I always wondered why they went for such a small engined, low powered bus, and then fitted TABLES at the rear of the upper deck I think the EH's are better put together, I hate the jerky B5LH drivetrain compared to the E40H. Nothing but Wrightbus where I am (either VLW, HV or DW) B&H may not have had an issue with the Streetdecks, but may have simply opted for hybrids instead of diesels this time, with EHs being the preferred hybrid type.

GAL's EH74 was on trial at Brighton and Hove recently. God knows what's happened to that now....

Those aren't ADL products, they are the products of their predecessors. Brighton & Hove bought nothing but Tridents in the past for several years, both new with East Lancs and President bodies, and ex-East London via Stagecoach South ones so they’re not turning to ADL for the first time, sorry. They are... we’ve ordered E400MMCs for the 5 ADL buses even of today share a number of parts with Tridents from the Dennis & Transbus era's so personally, I'd say it's a dip back into ADL even if their predecessor was slightly different Brighton & Hove bought nothing but Tridents in the past for several years, both new with East Lancs and President bodies, and ex-East London via Stagecoach South ones so they’re not turning to ADL for the first time, sorry. Indeed, although the only reason they had Tridents in the first place was because their was no low floor Scania double decker until late 2002/early 2003 and presumably they decided not to order more Scania N113DRB East Lancs Cityzens at the time as that along with the Volvo Olympian was available until 2000.
