When the 331 was running as out of GR (London & country North West) as the 348 (I think) it ran from uxb to Watford via the route the 331 takes as far as Northwood it used to be run by double decks. So the only reason could be the residents don't like "BIG BUSES" in the secton between Northwood and Ruislip

I don't think they're being tested, think it's more to do with whatever is available when it's time for buses to go out. Only the 331 is restricted to single deckers so DDs will deputise on the other routes if necessary. Is there reason why the TEs are the only double deckers allowed on the U5? None that I know of - I saw a VW on it a few weeks back. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before a VP will put in an appearance!

(1510 & 1531 last time I checked) I gather they wouldn't be on the old YOB sets but I've not seen a WOB set scrolled through yet. I do find it odd that after all these years, the U5 is getting the odd DD journeys here & there, the routing has always been able to take a DD seeing as for most of it, it follows the old 223. It does make the UX allocation rather interesting, even if it boring enviro400's! Takes me back to the 90's and early 00's when you used to see M's/V's/LX's on the U4, LLW's on the 207/607, LS's/LX's/V's on the 222 and Mobility buses & LLW's on the U3!

The results for the U5 consultation are in. After consulting on the proposals TfL have decided to proceed with plans to extend the route to Hayes ASDA. The changes will begin on Saturday 26th September 2015Excellent levels of support for the extension with only one opposed. Noticed TfL seem willing to extend the U5 to the bus stand in Millington Road once a number of "issues" are sorted. Maybe we'll get another consultation for that one stop extension... Details of the Full consultation report are hereThe main issues raised Click link here ( click here for the main consultation page)

Excellent!

My comments along the lines of 'Seeing as U5 tiles have already been placed along the proposed extended section, gives the impression that the extension will go ahead regardless of the consultation results' TfL saw as negative! Haven't seen any new blinds on any of UX's single deckers so far, I'd imagine they'll stick with the vague Hayes & Harlington, seeing as the Asda store is technically inbetween the 2!

I'm sure there were photos of the New buses for the 331 and U10 with blinds for 'Hayes Asda'. But these buses do not seem to be in any rush to enter into service.

A shortage of TfL ticket machines is why many buses are currently late going into service. Because of this, I'm guessing the 16's LT's are more important in pressing into service as they release buses to the 168 whereas the DC's can happily continue a while longer.

I was just about to say the same thing! I'd rather a Caetano Dart over an Enviro200 any day of the week! I wonder if they'll end up staying a bit longer and end up acting as refurb float for the 08reg E200's for the A10.

Sadly, having done all routes in Uxbridge, I might not be back up there anytime soon.

Well I-bus has been updated to announce U5 to Hayes, Asda. Sounds rather cut and pasted. No new blinds or inserts yet with them all showing 'Hayes & Harlington' or 'Hayes & Harlington Station' I know it's an extension of only 1 stop but I noticed at all bus stops there was no information provided to tell passengers of the extension, rather pee poor on TfL's behalf if you ask me!

Some of the Presidents only blinded for the U1 and U4 of the U routes. VWs blinded for all UX routes except the 331 and U10. Sorry for the late response!

Given how the 47/N47/N199 situation has been monumentally mismanaged it probably shouldn't be surprising that a one stop extension has been poorly managed as well!
