TfL has launched a consultation today on the diversion of Route 463 just before Wallington. 463 consultation pageThe route would no longer serve Croydon Road and Manor Road. Instead serving Demesne Road, Montagu Gardens and Maldon Road. The reasoning for the changes is to bring a number of local residents closer to the local bus network. The page says that the proposal is supported by the London Borough of Sutton. EDIT: The double deck journey would not serve this new routing, it would instead retain the existing routing (via Croydon Road and Manor Road) however it will be re-numbered 633 Must say it would been nice to have more detailed stop locations similarly to the 284 consultation. The consultation closes on Friday 9 October

Another introduction of a school route, I bet Arriva are planning to get 633 (if goes ahead) just like how they got 663 and 689, I'm thinking they might run from TC (that's if Arriva do win unless Quality Line 'retain' it) since TH might be up to it's full usage of buses once 663/689 use available E400s in TH, so TC might have spares to free to 633.

Having done the compulsory "look on Streetview" I wonder why TfL are bothering given the sparcity of the bus stops on the new roads. Clearly they've opted not to offend anyone by plonking a stop near anyone's house or drive but the effect of that is that the bus doesn't stop on the roads it serves. I therefore have to ask what on earth the point is if you have to walk for ages to get to a stop or worse walk to where the bus already stops! Make it hail and ride if they're so bothered about stop locations and let the public decide where they want to get on and off or don't bother. I know TfL and campaigners want as many stops as possible to be properly accessible but you're never going to achieve that where hail and ride is the best solution.
They're clearly terrified of a local residents campaign against stop locations despite the area being reasonable bus territory in part nearer to Wallington where there are flats. The other end is "semi detatched" land with a car in every driveway but obviously not everyone drives. It'll be interesting to see what transpires here.

The 633 would use 1 bus - I'm sure TH could easily squeeze one extra bus in without issue were they to win the route.

"oh noooooooooooooooooooooooeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssss smelly buses, criminals, house prices collapsing, won't someone think of the children, foundations vibrating to bits". The irony is that Mr Brake doesn't exactly look delighted to be lumbered with a nimby petition.

Dear Stakeholder Between August and October 2015 we consulted on proposals to alter route 463 to run via Maldon Road, Montagu Gardens and Demesne Road. Thank you for your patience in waiting for our response. We received 881 responses to the consultation. 869 responses were from members of the public and 12 were from stakeholders. 14 per cent of the responses supported or partially supported the proposals, 80 per cent said they did not support the proposals, 1 per cent were not sure, and 1 per cent did not express an opinion. We have considered all of the responses and have decided not to proceed with the proposals to reroute the 463 via Maldon Road, Montagu Gardens and Demesne Road. The service will therefore continue to remain on its existing line of route. However, the school day only double deck journeys between Coulsdon South and Beddington Church will be renumbered as route 633 from April 2016. . For more details including a full consultation report and our responses to issues raised, please go to tfl.gov.uk/buses/route-463.
