I've heard a lot of women say that they won't use the tube after about 8pm. I've heard similar. To be honest I'd say a night bus & night tube are about as dangerous as each other.

I wonder if this means associated weekend night routes will start running again too.

Can't help but think this is a waste in the current climate of cuts. I understand the service used to run at a loss. Pehaps a review of night bus services would be better value? New routes? Enhanced weekend only services?

Enhanced weekend only services? This is how I see it going, the mayor will want to reintroduce the night tube but TfLs finances along with a lack of drivers willing to work nights as they’ve all been moved onto day shifts with the same benefits and pay packages means he won’t be able too. So he will shift his appeals to the DfT and central government to fund the night tube directly invoking the memory of every young woman killed by mini cab drivers or walking alone and there are plenty even though some women will say they feel no safer on the tube at night, hell I’m a 6ft2 man and I don’t feel safe when a group of lads get on late night and I’m on my own. Get ready for the guilt trip rhetoric.

It may help some workers, but as many in the trade say it is used mainly by pee heads.

Could we not say the same about the night bus network? Probably, but I’d imagine the cost-benefit ratio for night buses is better than the night tube even if both run at a loss.

Night Tube to resume on Central and Victoria Lines 27 November 2021, trial running without passengers the night before.

Night Tube to resume on Central and Victoria Lines 27 November 2021, trial running without passengers the night before. Central and Victoria Line are being prioritised as they were the busiest of the Night Tubes before the pandemic. Staff training still needs to take place for the Piccadilly, Jubilee and Northern Line Night Tube to resume, and the reopening has to take into account operational and engineering closures. It is possible the Northern Line may wait for the new timetable in May following the Bank branch closure.

I wonder if the talk of bringing back the night tube might start the talks which will lead of the other tube lines, branches of tube lines that have the night don’t have the night tube in those branches cough the Greenford branch of the Central Line, other sections of The Overground, DLR and Crossrail to have night services. Hmm 🤔

Hmm 🤔 There probably won't be a night service on the Sub Surface lines until the signalling upgrades have been completed. No immediate plans for a night DLR
