Network Rail and Govia Thameslink Railway are getting everyone ready for another nine-day closure of the Brighton Main Line south of Three Bridges early next year. The line will be closed from Saturday 19th to Sunday 27th February( school half-term week), with buses and coaches operating between Three Bridges and Brighton, also Three Bridges and Lewes.
The alternative apparently would have been 20 weekends of closures.

Southern is suspending all services into and out of Victoria for a further week, they will not resume until 10th January at least. This is due to covid-related staff absences and will enable the remaining services to be operated more reliably. Services to and from Victoria are already suspended until 3rd January, because of engineering work. Longer-distance services are operating to and from London Bridge whilst Metro services are operating south of Balham. Some Metro services to and from London Bridge are also suspended. The current temporary timetables will continue to operate for another week when the situation will be reviewed. Rail tickets will be accepted on any reasonable alternative route including Underground, London Overground, trams and London buses. Gatwick Express crews will continue to be redeployed to support Southern services. www.southernrailway.com/coronavirus-information/revised-timetable

It could be a combination of train crew & dispatch staff or what you mentioned engineering works, but TL & GN are running a slightly reduced service also with 9P service group only running between Dartford - Rainham and reduced TL North services and GN Metro with also no peak 9K (Luton-Orpington), 9N (Bedford- Littlehampton) or 9L (Bedford-East Grindstead) service groups running. Hopefully this is resolved before Northern Line (bank branch) closure starts as there will be added pressure at London Bridge and TL services across the city will be extremely busy

Seems like a non story to me, like a journalist put two and two together and came up with 5. I’m sure it would be perfectly normal to register a holding company when discussing contract extensions in case one party walks away and the government cannot organise a tender in time, not that tendering is happening at the moment.

The roof of Streatham Hill Depot is to be covered in 626 solar panels. The panels are being installed by a community group, Energy Garden, which has set up an independent company to secure the investment and sell the surplus electricity locally. Around 40% of the electricity generated will be sold to to Depot, with the rest being available to companies locally that wish to use zero-carbon electricity. Each year the solar panels will generate over 200,000 kW hours of electricity and will save around 44 tonnes of carbon emissions. Energy Garden expects to earn £100,000 from the project over 20 years, which it will invest in education, youth training and expanding the gardens it maintains along the rail network. www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles/south-london-train-depot-to-be-covered-in-solar-panels-51633/www.energygarden.org.uk/

Question here. On the current Tube Map, Thameslink have been added to it. Im currently trying to go on every station on the Tube Map but for some weird reason no trains are showing when I click on the Thameslink tab on Google Maps for New Barnet and other stations heading southbound. I check the Thameslink and TFL websites and there's no timetable. So do only Great Northern trains serve these stations or do both Great Northern and Thameslink trains serve those but Thameslink only serve those at special times?

Thameslink only serve the station with a handful of peak hour services to/from King's Cross, Great Northern supplies the bulk of services What times does the Thameslink trains serve New Barnet? Thameslink haven’t been serving New Barnet since the start of Covid, one peak extra service returns 07:32 WGC - KGX, serves New Barnet at 07:49. Sevenoaks - Welwyn GC peak hour service is due to start in May as driver training has been underway for a few months now.

Southern will be withdrawing its class 455 suburban units by start of May 2022 timetable These were introduced in early 1980s so roughly 40 years old.
No replacement stock arriving, just seems to be general service reductions and shortening of some other services frees up enough stock to cover the services.
Rumoured (but not yet confirmed) that the loaned out 377s (might be 375s) to South Eastern will be returned to Southern during the Autumn so that the 3 car units can replace the older 313s on Coastway services by December. So 313s will also have gone by end of 2022
