Will Thameslink trains run to/from Orpington on Easter Monday? Evidently not. I looked on National Rail. While basically a Saturday service, all the Orpington - Bromley South trains are South Eastern. Thameslink will still have their service to Sevenoaks though. Right OK. Thanks for that

Right OK. Thanks for that Thameslink services are not serving Orpington on Easter Monday. They don't usually do on a weekend anyway, unless the Sevenoaks services are diverted via Orpington due to engineering work between Swanley and Sevenoaks, in which case they call additionally there. Unfortunately on easter Monday this is not the case and they'll be running as booked.

Yes that's it, along with London Bridge to East Croydon/Coulsdon Town (Saturday only). They also do London Bridge to London Victoria via Crystal Palace when they run on a Saturday. A couple of 455's were diagrammed to run to Dorking last Sunday while London Victoria was blocked, which I did but I've been told that won't be the case this weekend.

It’s being reduced to peak only for the time being, and if memory serves me correct the plan is to run it from Clapham to Watford, not beyond. London Northwestern have published their new timetables from May 15th and has the southern services back on it. All southern services will terminate at Watford Junction except for an AM and PM peak journey that will travel beyond Watford to terminate and start at Hemel Hempstead

Will the Croydon to Milton Keynes service ever run again??? Not in the foreseeable future, no. Just Watford to Clapham at the moment. It all depends on whether there is enough demand for the service

European Train Control System (ETCS) signalling was commissioned on the Northern City Line over the May Bank Holiday Weekend. The new system replaces obsolete equipment which was increasingly prone to failure, some of which dated back more than fifty years when the line was operated as part of the Underground.
ETCS will eventually allow lineside signalling to be abolished altogether, with the information relayed to a monitor in the driver's cab. The new class 707 trains were delivered with this equipment installed, and it is hoped that after a period of testing and training, the line will go over to in-cab signalling fully in 2024. Apart from less lineside equipment to maintain, ETCS also gives controllers better information about the exact whereabouts of each train, and also allows trains to operate more closely together where moving block and/or dynamic block working is available.
ETCS is already in use on the Thameslink Central Core, and is also one of the signalling systems in use on the Elizabeth Line. Network Rail plans to upgrade the entire East Coast Main Line to ETCS in due course.
