"The Vantage Power company with it's 'diesel to hybrid conversion' technology, already installed in Ensignbus Trident No. 599, is to retrofit six older Volvo B7TLs for TfL operators, two each for three operators. We await news of which of these will be."

I can see GAL's 06-reg WVL's and Metroline's VPs getting an upgrade. No idea about the third operator. Maybe Tower Transit?

To be honest I can't see Go Ahead using a 06-reg WVL after all that money's been spent upgrading them with retrofitted engines, AdBlue tanks and the Eminox exhaust systems. I wouldn't be surprised if euro2 engined examples are selected for the project, perhaps two of the oldest PVLs. Out of similar interest Ensignbus had planned a hybrid conversion with PVL115.

Did the ex-133 WVLs get emission upgrades? Most of the batch have only been used as logistical spares and haven't been tied to a route contract since 2010.

I don't believe any have been done and suspect they may return off lease soon if not treated by March 31st (deadline extended from December 31st 2015).

I was thinking Tower Transit's VNW/VNZ's at X, but with the 328 going to B5s soon that may be unlikely. Unless they go down the road of having seperate fleets with 328 being B5Hs and VNs and VNWs allocated as a mix for the 31 and 28.

Could still be a possibility, especially as it's unknown what route/s they would be used on if so treated.

What about BX's WVL272 and WVL273? I don't think they have been upgraded like the rest of the 06 reg WVL batch.

Worst kept secret lol. It is rumoured that our 6xx VPs will be the ones getting the treatment.

I think this sort of hybrid conversion should of been done a few years ago when Euro III vehicles weren't under much threat. Seems a waste to do it when any route with Euro III buses will lose those buses within the next year or two.
