Hopefully they'll start being introduced on the West Anglia lines and the Romford to Upminster line shortly. What is with that weird cardboard dalek alien looking thing. That's to measure how much space is required should Corbyn travel by train

In the replies to the tweet linked, it’s to test the CCTV cameras at each station. It is stood at every set of doors for a few seconds at each platform.

I accept that the extra services are more needed in the Barking to Gospel Oak direction at that time, but I'm surprised that there's no mention of at least one in the other direction.

What they should do is bring back the pixi trains that operated before the upgrade started that would ease the overcrowding and have a service of 15mins restored that would help with the early morning cancellations

These are earlier morning trains (current service commences at 06.00 but the two new trains will operate before that) rather than extra peak time capacity. Anyway I thought the line was back up to every 15 minutes now. There's no need for PIXC trains now as the new rolling stock has more than twice the capacity of the old.

Despite the ~doubled capacity, I’ve surprisingly heard a lot of complaints about overcrowding on the line on other forums. I believe TfLs next plan is to increase the lines frequency to 5tph, but I’ve no idea how soon that’ll happen!

Quite an interesting photo Crack has gone straight through a join weld on left Broken off piece in ballast at top The cast iron chair has been smashed More pictures here, www.networkrailmediacentre.co.uk/news/gospel-oak-to-barking-line-freight-derailmentSlightly baffled by picture 2 as there are marks on inside of rail, was the gauge tight here and a wheel rode up Hearing it could take 2-4 weeks as at least 1500 sleepers need replacing and some of the longtitudal timbers on the bridges have been damaged. These would have to come from a central stock and be cut to size. Could be 60 replacement track panels which is easier than replacing individual sleepers, but old track would need to be cut into short sections and loaded onto a train to take them away, then remove some ballast, then lay track panels, weld it all up and reballast. Probably talking 5000+ tonnes of materials in and out.

The marks you are baffled by could be that they was going to replace that section of track anyway?

Does anyone know the official LOR for the emergency LO-T Replacement? My bus yesterday morning (LK54 FWL) went via East Ham and picked up there whereas my bus in the afternoon (PJ02RDZ) went via Romford Road and the A406 alongside a Southern Transit E400 city

My bus yesterday morning (LK54 FWL) went via East Ham and picked up there whereas my bus in the afternoon (PJ02RDZ) went via Romford Road and the A406 alongside a Southern Transit E400 city The offical line of route is via East Ham station to pick up (towards Walthamstow) or set down (towards Barking) and then continuing towards Woodgrange Park. This is a modified LOR though, the original routing was via the A406 and Romford Road direct. My hunch is that TfL likely sent the out of date route to Southern Transit for them to be traversing the A406 unprompted as I'm not aware of any road closures in East Ham occurring yesterday.
