The route 277 is in need to go to angel as rush hour between Highbury courner to angel is a choas. As the route 277 has the most frequent buses in Highbury courner I tend to see so many passengers getting off the last stop on the route 277 and then boarding on the routes to angel which makes rush hour more extreme to handle between Highbury to angel, if the route 277 extends to angel I am certain it will help ease rush hour a lot more than now and if you are wondering where can the 277 terminate. It can use the route 274 bus stand in angel as there is a lot of space there and the route 274 can reroute to rosebury Avenue as there is a unused bus stand there. The Highbury consultation about making the roundabout a one way system is a good idea as there is heavy traffic in Highbury in rush hours as no one gives way to the vehicles from the A1 from angel. also the route 263 is needed between Holloway to Highbury barn as there is 3 schools there and it helps the 393s overcrowding. The roundabout is already a one way system - the proposal is to close the western side of the roundabout and make the rest of it two way.

Unfortunately TfL think it's unreliable (I beg to differ) and would rather cut it to Dalston than extend anywhere! N277 to Angel did not materialize either. We'll be lucky if 277 stays at H&I om the first place, under current financial climate and traffic levels, forget an extension

TfL have kicked the decision date further down the road. Update last week now says "in the next few months" as to when TfL will make their mind up. Either the politics are really horrible or they are desperately trying to cut the cost of the remodelling scheme as I can't see why it has taken so long to reach a conclusion.

I can't see why they want to remodel a perfectly good junction anyways.

I can't see why they want to remodel a perfectly good junction anyways. It's not a perfectly good junction. It was fine once upon a time. It seems like TfL have been faffing about with it for around 10 years now causing endless delays and inconvenience to road users and pedestrians.

Merging a round about with 2 lanes into a single Lane in each direction is hardly going to help with rising traffic levels.

I can't see why they want to remodel a perfectly good junction anyways. TfL have this trend of making junctions worse with these so-called improvements - only rarely do they get it right such as the junctions in Brixton by the police station & by the town hall although one more improvement could of been made with a bus only lane to allow buses to directly turn into Acre Lane. Even at Fiveways, they proposed a good idea of building a bridge over the A23 which would of cut congestion here massively but ended up going with the cheap option of retaining the traffic light controlled junction and cosmetic improvements.

Judging by them telling everyone to get the 30 probably safe to say it's going ahead. I'm looking forward to seeing extra journeys added to route 30 a few months later to cope with the demand

My reading of the response to issues raised is that the 277 is being axed west of Dalston. The proposed N277 to Angel is not mentioned so I assume that's dead too meaning no night service from Highbury to Canary Wharf and removal of a 24 hour service from Balls Pond Rd to Highbury. You see it's all "terribly expensive" to run buses these days so we much prefer that people have to get up an hour earlier and walk for 40 minutes to Dalston rather than be able to catch a bus to be able to get to work to clean offices at Canary Wharf. Useless TfL < bleeeps >.

In that case, they may as well swap the 30 / 277 routings between Dalston & Hackney - Send the 30 direct via Graham Road (again) and the 277 via Dalston Lane.

Absolutely outrageous. There was nothing wrong with 277 and they butcher it. Could it not have stood at Highbury Barn or something? Also, 263s stood at H&I for all these months with no issue... 🤔 "Extra buses on route 30" - that just shows how delusional TfL are about it all... Don't they get some routes intentionally start or finish in certain locations so capacity is there? Bloody fools
