Well this will be very interesting. The 477 is a very busy route on the Kent section. The 402 less so north of Dunton Green. Maybe Arriva could divert the 402 to Orpington, reroute from Halstead to Orpington via the R5. Withdraw R5/10. Extend R6 hourly shopping hours to that garden centre at Polehill via Green Street Green, Pratts Bottom, Knockholt Station. From my own observations, the 402 actually sees decent enough usage to remain running along the current route north of Dunton Green. As for the 477, used that once end to end and it wasn't particularly busy.

Sorry you're right of course. It's that they wouldn't be London Local Service Agreements (the old section 3/2) which permit TfL pass acceptance. Doh! They haven't been on LLSA since 2010. It's a separate agreement totally separate from LLSA or LSP to accept TfL passes because of unique links In London where TfL still pay for accepting passes. Well that's me told!

Have seen 477s in Dartford with standing loads on every day of the week inc. Sundays. Possibly a combination of general usage levels and some pretty horrendous reliability issues (take a look on twitter) resulting in service gaps.

I've always thought the 477 needed double deckers, there's no restriction as far as I'm aware, RMC's and AN's did the route years ago.

From the Arriva website.
Arriva KT are making a load of service changes most of which seem to worsen the service offered with bits of route being cut to excessive congestion, badly parked cars and no priority for buses.

Reply from Arriva says "TfL passes will still be accepted on the 402, however not valid on the 477, TfL staff passes will still be accepted"

Reply from Arriva says "TfL passes will still be accepted on the 402, however not valid on the 477, TfL staff passes will still be accepted" TfL staff passes still accepted - on the 402 or 477 or both and is that just within Greater London? Surprised to see that for normal staff passes. People who had "and former London Country buses" on their staff pass retain travel availability with bits of various commercial networks including Uno, Metrobus, Arriva SC.

May well use this topic as its to do with the 477. If KCC agree to end funding for the evening 477, the evening service will stop completely between Swaney and Orpington. It's an option in their bus cuts which are being consulted on at the moment.

What I can't quite work out is why they are proposing to axe Swanley to Orpington given it would save no buses. The current evening service requires 2 buses and a truncated one would also need 2 (unless there is some clever interworking at Bluewater with another evening service).

If this evenings service is anything to go by, Arriva seem to have lost interest. One bus is running over 25 mins late !! Have to say not surprised. Arriva Northfleet must be the most unreliable, shoddy and unprofessional bus garage I've ever had the misfortune to have to use. Anyway, my 1950 did turn up. 1 TfL passenger and 7 using the country section.
