Singapore and Hong Kong are so much like London in terms of buses. I do like the livery out there, and I hope they might take it over to the UK. Another thing I didn't realise was that Singapore spoke so much English?

Another thing I didn't realise was that Singapore spoke so much English? It's a former UK colony so English features very strongly alongside Malay, Chinese and various Indian languages. That reflects the multi-ethnic culture and make up of the population in the Country. It's very efficiently run but can feel a tiny bit soulless. Given its position near the equator the length of daylight hardly ever varies - barely 1-2 minutes over the year. The weather is also steamy, warm with quite incredible rainfall levels - hence the massive ditches and canals all over the place to prevent flooding.

I've known people whose been to Singapore and its apparently quite a nice place. I would be happy to go there one time and explore. I find it a bit embarrising to myself that I didn't know it was part of the British Empire until WW2, as I've studied that recently. But now knowing they speak English, now I know one of the reasons why UK bus manufacturers and operators are so interested in places like Singapore and Hong Kong.

There is actually quite a long heritage of UK buses, new and second hand, being used in Singapore and Hong Kong. I remember having one very scary bus ride on an ex LT DMS over the mountains in Hong Kong and going about 50 mph into the built up area.

I certainly will just to experience the various bus types and enjoy the great sceneries of the city from them

Livery looks fantastic, even the "bus captains" uniform looks okay, even futuristic. The whole publicity push really reflects well on Transit Systems/Tower Transit- the company looks genuinely excited about entering the Singapore market, a bit like when they first took over parts of First London with the photos on their website, news reports on Australian news etc etc

Have to agree total bus heaven, still with older buses in service as well. It's just expensive to visit

Would really like to visit Singapore and/or Hong Kong in the near future.

Best place to ask is Gakei website, i've had good contacts with Joe on there about the 307 to Tai Po, and they don't curtail buses
What I find is they have the same ideal as Stagecoach in London with shiny wheel rims, well good upkeep of buses.

What an absolutely gorgeous interior- shame we don't have anything like that in London- not that it would last 5 minutes in some areas of the Capital
