Maybe this was already known and I had just missed it, but according to this article on route-one.net, another 65 EvoSetis have been ordered. The EvoSeti looks better in London red than I had expected. I like the design of the headlights however I'm not so sure about the front of the upper deck, particularly the 'crease' on the corner pillars, and also the windscreen (I prefer the look of wrap-around windscreens to having a separate window ahead of the driver's side window that doesn't really match. Maybe some black paint in that area would be an improvement). It's also interesting to see there is no space for a 'T' shape advert frame on these buses.

Look boxy from the front and the little pillar window next to cab window looks wrong.

I like them, very nice looking HOWEVER, I do think that they will, unfortunately, not age very well. Up against the MMCs they already look older than them

Yeah, as I said the square look of the upper deck front and that window are the main things I don't like about this design. At least the black paint disguises the square shape on the rear. What I meant by these looking better than I expected is that I had thought they would look much more 'out of date' than they actually do, however that could partly be because they are still new and shiny so we'll have to see how they are in a couple of years time. I still think the MHVs might seem a bit 'basic' compared to all the New Routemasters and Enviro400 Citys they will pass when running into central London. At least the MMCs still clearly look like modern buses even though they don't have features such as glazed staircases.

Go-Ahead sure got a bunch of great looking buses. It's bank holiday weekend coming up and I may be tempted to ride on the new EvoSetis! I like the rear of both the MMC and especially the EvoSeti - I do think the all-red on the buses these days looks a lot more smart and pronounced with a bit of black here and there to compliment the look (such as the 27s ADHs and W's TEHs). I think that's why I like the look of Metroline/Go-Ahead's/TT's Gemini 3s, while I think London United's VHs are really ugly. I partly agree with your points. All-Red buses combined with black surrounds look smart and appealing. Regarding Metroline/Stagecoachs's Gemini 3s, the way the black adorns the rear doesn't look as appealing as it does on other buses, the glossy finish doesn't help either, as opposed to the matte effect on the MMCs and EvoSetis. Also, I personally like LU's VHs regardless of the facelift, they are perfect examples of how to rock the All-Red look with the right amount of black, they look very smart in comparison to others and the rear is designed just right.

LOL yes Q is rather fond of mixing types - I guess the only thing stopping this in the short term will be blinds on the older buses need updating. At least some of the PVLs may still have the 35 and 40 from seven years ago. Most of the PVL's received updated blinds a few years ago so I doubt many of them still have 35 and 40 on

Am I the only person to think that the MHVs have distinct overtones of the DMS Fleetlines?

The MHVs look really good minus the black part at the upper deck rear imo.

Maybe this was already known and I had just missed it, but according to this article on route-one.net, another 65 EvoSetis have been ordered. So they are dual sourcing buses, the 7th April tender wins require about 124 buses, about half 65, are Evosetis I guess the 35 and 40 and the five newly won routes may see them grouped by garages, and the allocation that starts this weekend might not continue once more are delivered. Who is building the other 59 and the smaller number of diesel deckers ?

There's about 60-something 59-reg WVLs in London Central, right? It would make sense if the newly ordered MHVs go here. Although that raises the question of what the 363 will receive...

WVL274-WVLL333 is 60 WVLs, in addition since then the 21 & 63 have had PVR increases so buses have been brought in to cover these increases. New Contract PVRs 21 - 27 63 - 32 PVR = 59 65 Buses including spares should cover this if this is what these 65 Busss are for. So should have 3 Spares each. Wouldn't surprise me if the 363 gained another batch of new buses. In addition bare in mind that there are eight routes which new buses are specified at the moment. 1/N1, 14, 21/N21, 63/N63, 74/N74, 185, 363, 430
