Remember the 21 and 63 group have been retained with hybrids too. There's about 60-something 59-reg WVLs in London Central, right? It would make sense if the newly ordered MHVs go here. Although that raises the question of what the 363 will receive... WVL274-WVLL333 is 60 WVLs, in addition since then the 21 & 63 have had PVR increases so buses have been brought in to cover these increases. New Contract PVRs 21 - 27 63 - 32 PVR = 59 65 Buses including spares should cover this if this is what these 65 Busss are for. So should have 3 Spares each. Wouldn't surprise me if the 363 gained another batch of new buses. In addition bare in mind that there are eight routes which new buses are specified at the moment. 1/N1, 14, 21/N21, 63/N63, 74/N74, 185, 363, 430 It would surprise me a little if it does. Surely it would have been cheaper to order a bigger bulk of one type as opposed to ordering two different types

There will be other orders for WHV and EH types as well I suspect, maybe even the enviro 400 city too. So interesting times ahead at GAL....

The seats on the MHVs are horrible, so small and so hard. Spoils a great bus.

Had my first ride on an MHV today. The bus in general is a very good bus, very spacious inside and large side windows to allow a good view out of the bus. However there are some very minor issues that I found did play a part in the overall experience. The stop bell is completely horrific. It's a honk/deep squeaking sound that plays for about 3-4 seconds after every press of the stop button. Usually it is easy to get used to this sort of thing after a few stops but personally I found it extremely irritating and loud when I just wanted a good ride. The seats are certainly not the best that you will find on a bus either.

I agree with most of the comments about the MHV the seats were hard however other time I didn't notice this and bell was fustrating especially when people kept pressing it numerous times for 1 stop but over time most people will get use to it andd the actual bus experience will be good especially with it's big spacious interior and pleasant looks which looks nicer in person.

The bus stop bell 'should' be able to be reprogrammed to ring only once.

Must of just been me who didn't find the MHV's seats uncomfortable then lol. Very impressed by them - no rattles like the EH & seem to be built really solidly. My only gripe was the low ceiling at the rear which means I have to duck my head but then I guess it's a consequence of Volvos shower cubicle layout on the B5LH. Now I just want one on the 45 along with an EH and I'll be happy lol.

Are the seats the same as the uncomfortable ones on WVLs 496-508 and WHVs 32-41?
It sounds like the bell is the same as the one that was on the fellow MCV-built VM1 and the single-deck MCV Evolutions.
I'm tempted to have a ride today or tomorrow, though that does mean dealing with 15 minute frequencies on busy routes (and of course, the dreaded 30 minute frequency of the 298!)

They have Rowan Telmac seats like on the AF WVL's & WHV's except I didn't find them uncomfortable either when I rode one of the WHV's on the 430 a few months ago lol.

I had my first ride on an MHV on the 35 this morning and I have to say that I was very disappointed. Uncomfortable seats and the ridiculous 'bell' for want of a better word, it got on my nerves just going from Shoreditch to Camberwell, the poor old driver must have a thumping headache at the end of the day. I don't think they are particularly attractive buses either and I overheard a driver telling a colleague the EHV's are much better.

Whilst it is annoying having to bend down to get into and out of the seats, I did enjoy the higher position of the rear row. I did feel sorry for the gent that thumped his head proper hard when he stood up, couldn't tell if he was red from embarrassment or red from injury.

I tried the upper deck out today on MHV8 heading towards Kings College - lots of legroom and the backs of the rear seats seem to angled slightly which I'm guessing helps with back support. The bell is annoying upstairs than downstairs but I have to say, the MHV's are very impressive - more for Brixton routes please lol.

Went on one on Saturday and I found them to be nice. The build quality, although not as good as the Wright Gemini 3 was still better than the EHs. Hopefully the more the build, the better they'll become. The modular seats are very comfy, contrary to the HORRID thin Rowan Telmacs seats that WSD1 and the AF Gemini 2s are graced with.
I'm still not 100% sure about the front end though, not a fan of the rather large pillars (the MMC and even the "frog face" Gemini 3 look nicer on the front end so that's what scores them points in their favour), the DD103 had a much better upper deck window, and I've still got to get used to the lower section of that front end. The MetroDecker does look good, would be even better if the two frontmost side windows were one unit, shame there's no hybrid version yet.
Overall, its nice to see some variety in London's buses, and I would like to see more Evosetis in London.

How much do the MHVs weigh? I have seen that they are 62 seated + 25 standees which is fair few less standees than on the Gemini versions which is why I ask.
