Air brake system I believe. The two pipe brake system, main-line and train-line. From 1973 Stock only one main-line pipe is used, also Westinghouse but Westcode brake.

Correct On 1972 Stock the Westinghouse requires a loss of train-line air to apply the brake, loss of electric control will result in no brake. On 1973 and later Stock it’s a fail-safe electric brake, when the electric control keeps the brake off.

Not about the Central Line improvement but a gem of a clip about the 92 stock first entering service
Also a brilliant clip of Matt Lucas!

Are we ever going to see a refurbished train. The reduced timetable came in in early 2020 and even pandemic aside its over 2 years later and one hasn't re entered service yet?

Can see the Central Line ending up like the D stock! Take ages to complete all the trains only for them to be withdrawn within a few years.

The Bakerloo must surely be ahead of the central line now for new trains which may see new trains ordered around 2026/27 so realistically early 2030s befroe any possible new trains on the central.

I thought the Bakerloo is the last to be done, that’s if the funding is available OG course as nothing is confirmed beyond the Piccadilly
