Are we ever going to see a refurbished train. The reduced timetable came in in early 2020 and even pandemic aside its over 2 years later and one hasn't re entered service yet? There is a YouTube video of one with new motors don't know if this is edited though or what .

The Leyton Station upgrade has received a substantial boost, with TfL agreeing to commit £500,000 to allow design work to be completed so that the project can be "shovel-ready" when long-term funding is agreed. The station will have a new, extended ticket hall alongside the existing one and set back from the road, to reduce the overcrowding at occurs on the pavement outside the station. There will also be a new footbridge and stairways to ease overcrowding inside the station. Up to 7,000 new homes are due to be built within one kilometre of the station and the improvements are expected to cope with increased demand for the station into the 2040s. When work is complete, the station will be fully accessible. The existing ticket office will then close. Waltham Forest Council has agreed to fund £9 million of the total cost (estimated at £18-£20 million), with TfL providing the remainder. If TfL can secure the funding, work could start in April 2023 and be completed in Summer 2026. www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles/leyton-tube-station-upgrade-gets-additional-funding-55262/

Some of these works IIRC was to be done before the Olympics in 2012, but got shelved. It would still have the problem which sees many people getting knocked over coming out the station and running across the road for Walthamstow bound buses on the 58, 97, 69 and 158. I guess it may now be difficult to do an exit/entrance from the northbound bus stop to the train station due to the M11 link Road (A12) constructed there.
