A consultation has been launched by TfL to get opinions on the changes being made to bus in the Mitcham area due to the ' Rediscover Mitcham' programme of works. Mitcham service changes pageAttachment DeletedThere is no formal survey but can email them opinions via their generic consultation email address Note: this thread is an extension of the Rediscover Mitcham thread which I could not find at time of posting.

Going by the wording it looks as if they are saying it WILL happen but are inviting people to mail in on what will become toilet paper for the back office. They haven't made it clear how interim changes will affect routes (diversions etc). Nice to see they mean business by repeating works times though!

Pretty much my view that this is a fait accompli. TfL haven't even bothered to give a listing of what routes serve which stop. I assume they know or at least have an indicative view. An analogous consultation was the one for Aldgate - that did at least show what route would stop where when everything was complete. Seems like an utter waste of time to me - surely they could have simply sought replies via Merton Council's consultation?

I'm a little confused - I just looked at the consultation above and all the stops that are being implemented have what routes will serve it. What's more baffling is that Merton's consultation states no bus route will serve Raleigh Gardens & that the bus lane along there will be removed which makes no sense as how is the 152 meant to reach Western Road towards New Malden yet TfL's consultation shows the 152 continuing to use Raleigh Gardens.

I understand what you're saying about Raleigh Gardens and definitely agree. Although I think there may be different definitions of serve between yourself and Merton. With no bus stop along Raleigh Gardens I'd assume Merton could just about get away with saying Raleigh Gardens is not served by any bus route.

Having to translate between two maps is what threw me - one shows the route colours and then another has the route annotated to the stops. Why not a before and after map with each map combining the routes and stops? Furthermore the maps don't show the equivalent areas - one is a sub set of the other. The maps for this "consultation" is not how TfL typically show things. It's just a mess and more so if you're relatively unfamiliar with Mitcham as I am. Meanwhile in other news .... I'm just popping out to conduct a frontal lobotomy to see if my brain is still present.
