The Oxford Circus - Victoria link has been maintained by rerouting the 390 at Marble Arch from Notting Hill Gate to Victoria. The 500 IIRC was withdrawn when the Victoria Line was opened! I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on route 242 following its cutback to St Pauls? There was some patronage shared with the 8 between Tottenham Court Road and Liverpool Street but since the cutback it has been pretty empty to and from St Pauls. Given TFL want to reduce the number of buses using bank junction I would have thought that the 242 is the prime candidate to remove from the area given the low usage. I think TFL should reroute the 242 to London Bridge. They could also extend it to Farringdon so it can connect the Elizabeth line to and from Liverpool Street.

I've copied and pasted it below: 26 withdrawal option 1 26 withdrawn 76 diverted via Kingsland Road and Bishopsgate to Bank 242 diverted via Southgate Road, Baring Street, New North Road, Old Street, Moorgate to Bank then St Paul's D6 extended to Hackney Wick via the 26 using double deckers 388 frequency increased to 7.5bph 26 withdrawal option 2 26 withdrawn 242 diverted from Shoreditch Church via the 26 until Well Street then continues via Morning Lane to Homerton Hospital then as existing terminating at Hackney Central 242 extended from Bank to Waterloo via 26 309 extended to Hackney Wick via existing 26 Withdrawal of the 26 is in response to the reduction of buses through Bank junction and looking at ways in which to streamline the Ash Grove to Bishopgate corridor. Two options available, with option 2 being preferred as it provides the lowest amount of broken journeys in a similar approach to the 13/82/139 changes. Consultation can be hand on whether the 26or242 numbers retained for this routing

Only the 332 is left to be decided as the 23 plans were announced as not going ahead with the 10/23 merger instead. The 3 partially went ahead when it was pulled back to Trafalgar Square buy whether it will reach Russell Square is not known.
