If you want fast, try a mid evening/ early night 113, early in the week, from Swiss Cottage to Mill Hill! Ah yes that’s a good one

Surely that is travelling straight into the peak if you do it in that direction, so it will be slow? That being said I commuted the other way down the A41 (into london) in the evenings for 5 years and I think I remember the traffic supposedly against the peak often being worse than the traffic towards it!

Ah right, wasn't aware it was DDs only. Shame the 232 isn't operated by DDs as it's a route that definitely should be converted. Not sure if there's a low bridge along the route?

There isn’t any physical restrictions to stop DDs on 232. I believe it could be due to resident objections on Dollis Hill Lane. When the 232 was first introduced it was M-operated before it was single-decked which also coincided with its rerouting via Dollis Hill Lane.

Even after the rerouting via Dollis Hill Lane, there was a scheduled DD school working on the route until 2004. After that, unscheduled DDs continued to appear until the route was transferred to NW (which had no DDs) in 2005.
Not personally aware of any resident objections (could well have happened though), but I have heard a suggestion that trees along the route may have grown a bit in the 14+ years since DDs last appeared.
Incidentally, for many years the route was curtailed at Drury Way in the evenings because of "antisocial behaviour" at the St Raphael's terminus. Hopefully that's not an issue any more.

Due to be withdrawn for a week between Drury Way and St Raphaels due to “bus drivers toilet works” apparently
