131, good taste sir Ha thanks, it's always a tough choice weather to get a 131 or 57 from Kingston to Wimbledon both great routes. I like the WVN on the 131 as well. Nah 131’s nicer I regularly stay in Kingston so need to get to Wimbledon to get the tube. I deliberately wait for the 131 as - although slightly longer - its usually the quicker of the two due to being less busy. Don’t get me wrong both are very very busy routes, but the 57 is the busier one and stops constantly. It’s also the less frequent one despite being busier, yes total nonsense I know. Also the 57 can suffer with poor reliability due to it being very long with a lot of traffic hotspots, the 131 suffers less so with traffic. Oh yeah that I also dislike the 57’s Es, not that nice whereas the WVNs are lovely.

I used to enjoy seeing London United buses in Streatham, particularly before the puritans insisted on every livery being near identical.

My preference would be the 57. They ran it very well. And the best buses ever on it, were Westlink’s VA’s (VA 11+) which were quickly absorbed into London United main fleet despite initially having Westlink brand names on the London United livery. An early evening trip into Kingston guaranteed you a thrash up Coombe Lane,

I can't remember an occasion when waiting for other buses around Streatham Hill when 57s didn't appear at very regular intervals. I too prefer it to the 131.

I would actually go as far as to say the 131 is probably the most reliable route in London. If anyone could offer up any potential contenders for most reliable route I’d be intrigued, routes that are ‘reliable’ due to horrific over-regulation do not count which is certainly something the 131 doesn’t suffer with to achieve its reliability.

Good to see you like the 65, its my local route and I adore it 65 is my favourite route in London hands down, the petersham bit near the dysart is the best bit with that tight turn. I hope RATP forever retain it. Sorry to any metroline fans on here 😉 I use the 65 every day and l’m not the biggest fan of the route. It’s not a route that RATP run well, but I doubt any other operator could do any better. That being said, the 111 and N9 are great fun with RATP and I think they are where the company excels.

RATP have got a lot of experience going for them which is something that can’t be said of others. I think it would be interesting to see Abellio or Metroline run the 65 but there’s little chance that’ll happen

Should have said but my list was purely based on the route itself rather than the type of buses or how well each service is run.

It was AH's main route for many years after all. Armchair were struggling with the route towards the end of their tenure but that was a different era. If routes were just awarded on the basis of "experience" no routes would ever change hands!

The 65 is a beautiful scenic route
