The 36 and 436 are usually seen bunching together, even during late evenings. The former's slightly higher frequency sometimes accounts for this (their frequencies should be swapped imo) and is usually the one behind on n/b journeys. Also, the 31 and 328 can sometimes be seen bunching together, the 28 tends to be seperate but occassionally joins the convoy in the common section.

But the roaring of those Solos is pretty cool, despite the loudness, it's always pleasant hearing them roar up Highgate Hill. Their roar and design of the back are the only things I like about those Solos, they're what made me like them a little more than I should. As I mentioned to Vjaska lets agree to disagree. I am a volvo fan and I don't like B7 or any other TL/RLE/R/LH roaring so I certainly am not going to like anything else roaring, especially as it isn't an animal and especially if its not a Tiger. Lol at the Tiger reference fair point.

Looks quite smart and nice. Sounds good too, unlike the silly roaring of the Solos. News Update TFL change new Route to 351 TFL admit the Error was out of the Blue Oh no...you've done it now! How about another shot at renumbering your idea, perhaps somewhere in the 400s? If it causes another concern then it's safe to say the idea should not go ahead to avoid any inconvenience...

The bus stop on Staines Road West is Chertsey Road, but the bus stop down Littleton Road is still called Black Dog. I'll try and snap a pic tomorrow. Good idea though, about the name changes. I thought that they were phasing out pub names as bus stops but I see Three Fishes still exists as a bus stop in Lower Sunbury. They have phased out a large number of pub names as bus stops or even bus destinations but I suspect it's done usually when a pub sadly disappears - Leyton, Bakers Arms & Tulse Hill Tavern still survive as bus stop names/destinations as does Three Fishes as you mentioned. I personally prefer it this way, it may be tradition but I don't see the point of naming bus stops after pubs, unless the pub is a grade II listed building.

My favourite bus stations are Hammersmith and Vauxhall (yet TfL want to destroy it and put a nonsensical design in place)Both brilliant well designed bus station with commuter's convenience at the heart of the design with brilliant smooth interchanges to other modes of transport. Moreover on Hammersmith, also has a gooda shelter for waiting passengers and a direct way to Hammersmith Town Centre for the shops, library etc. Another vote for Hammersmith, it would have to be my favourite bus station. I like the fact that the bus station, shopping centre and underground station are all interconnected and on seperate floors.

Quick jaunt on the 94 from Oxford Circus to Piccadilly (Charles II Street) - it was one of the new ones (VH45153), very eager engine, so much so I was almost thrown to the floor going up the stairs Aside from that, nice moquette, and the design has grown on me But the traffic is deffo getting worse in the West End You should've seen Charing Cross Road! It was chaotic due to diverted traffic via Centre Point. I saw a 19 and 38 avoid it by going up Shaftesbury Avenue towards Holborn.

The problem with extending the 417 to Waterloo is you run a massive risk of compromising it's already not great reliability. I suspect a new entire route would do the job infinitely better and would allow the 417 to gain a short extension to Clapham Junction which would impact far less on its already shaky reliability and give much needed assistance to the 35 & 37. What about extending the 249? Or would that make the route too lengthy/unreliable? Or maybe even extend the 432 via Stockwell, Clapham High Street...? The 249 has a longer running time and length than the 417 and 432 so it would suffer from reliability issues if extended any further, the 417 and 432 max out at 44 and 48 mins respectively so there is scope for extending both routes. vjaska extending the 417 to Clapham Junction is also a good idea, regarding the Waterloo extension I acknowledge school journeys can sometimes hinder the 417's reliability, from the times I've done the route end to end during school hours (how very brave of me ) it never took over an hour. The 417 could be given extra buses during school hours to reduce overcrowding and dwelling time.

Some interesting proposals mentioned in this document. Regarding the 417, I like the idea of extending it to Waterloo and introducing new links between Waterloo - Clapham Common and beyond, however this would make the extension to Lower Sydenham I was hoping for more difficult now. Personally, I would reroute the 417 via Wandsworth Road and send the 452 via Nine Elms Lane instead, the 452's proposed extension would make it indirect and oddly shaped at its southern end, this would allow both routes to be more direct in the Nine Elms/Vauxhall area.

Well it isn't exactly hideous, the SRM is OK in it's design. What I can't fathom is why on earth all the hassle of getting a shorter LT on the streets that is arguably as similar in design to the NB4L as the E400 City is has to be put up with. Surely the City is a more than good enough alternative to convert the routes that do not permit LTs as it shares similar style elements to the LTs and saves money in the process. This really deems the "convert routes that failed the LT test" statement completely irrelevant. All I can say for this is it's utterly unnecessary, and that's a massive understatement. Just saw some pictures of it. It looks like a cross between a Streetdeck and a New Routemaster. More like a cross between an LT and a Gemini 3 Hybrid due to the B5LH chassis.

What? to go into a McEnroe moment "they CANNOT be serious". These buses need opening windows and they need them from day one. And what's this travesty about "future versions"? Ugh. This statement bugs me too, what is the point in mentioning the opening windows when there was a perfect chance to implement them during production, considering that this topic was talked about a lot, then say something along the lines of "Oh we'll put them in later", no logic whatsoever. It's an obvious way of ensuring that the whole NB4L thing is sticking around for longer.

I wonder what grounds this statement is based on as I struggle to see the validity of it
