I like the branding BUT not a fan for London as I have posted before. Just say for example the 15 was branded these buses would be on the 5 and EL routes within days as you already see with the ELT branding. The downside of listing places served means intending passengers could catch a bus in the wring direction if they only pay attention to the side of a bus (Especially tourists).
I would much rather all buses have the updated iBUS screens internally.
This is just my view.
It is proven to work everywhere else even though the very thing you describe happens so I don't see how it would be any different? We saw with the Barkingside trial that operators actually did pretty well keeping the correct buses to the correct routes so it can be done

If you are from outside that area you aren’t going to magically hop on a bus if you have done your research. It’s the same as if I was a tourist in another city either abroad or the UK, I’m either staying in the heart of a city or near public transport like trains or subways. Even then I would still ask the trained hotel concierge how to get somewhere. Written numbers don’t change regardless of language, unless it’s a European 9, but that’s a whole different thing. What we need is better training of station staff to know local bus routes and vice versa bus drivers of other local routes. Branding might be cheap but it can also look cheap if not done right and I’ve yet to see it look good in London.

That is down to TfL to enforce. If they started fining companies for branded buses on wrong routes it would soon stop. I am shocked with what GAL get away with with the ELT branded buses.

They're also the only operator to still have buses running around in their pre-all red livery so they're doing an amazing job getting away with it

That's because TfL did the branding in London hence why all their schemes bar their partnership with UNO which led to the 383's branded vehicles, which do look good as someone who has seen it in person and rode on one of the vehicles in question so it shows if they actually do it properly, they can. We've had branding in the past pre TfL and some of those schemes actually did look good so forgive me if I'm slightly cycnical over your "I've yet to see it look good in London" comment. If TfL was to work with someone like Best Impressions, you would see a dramatically better branding scheme even if you have doubts over it's actual usefulness.

A lot of Best Impressions work includes vinyls on lower panels that easily get damaged or run across body panels which makes them difficult to maintain. The 383 branding is almost identical to that used on Central London Routemaster routes in the London Transport days.

Also almost identical to the Barkingside branding too, pretty much just missing the coloured flashes.

They're also the only operator to still have buses running around in their pre-all red livery so they're doing an amazing job getting away with it I see those BX buses with grey skirts almost every day (on the 132 especially). Not sure if MG has a few for the 129 They actually don’t look bad (one can argue they are distinctive!). The average person doesn’t really care Franklin

The BX grey skirted E’s have already been replaced by former SW WVL’s, they are due to be stood down any day now - it has nothing to do with the 132’s EP conversion

Indeed, have seen them route testing in recent times (132 is my go to bus for the daily grind)
