Looking like the snow is a goer for Tuesday night. What's the betting they cancel last trains Tuesday night and Wednesday even before a snow flake has fallen

And for fun, a predicted pic of the 204 on Wednesday morning Not sure what will be easier to push uphill, a TE or VW as this route's allocation has changed Thursday sees more, along with Friday

I find the Met Office forecast to be much more accurate than the Meteo group now used by the BBC.

I find the Met Office forecast to be much more accurate than the Meteo group now used by the BBC. The BBC forecasts change every day. Some level of change is to be expected because, hey, it's the weather but the scale of change is incredible. Worse the online forecast info is often at odds with what is actually said / shown on actual forecasts broadcast / made available online. It takes a special sort of uselessness to be that at odds with your own information. I'd have expected that the online info would be co-ordinated with the timing of broadcasts and updated at the same time to ensure consistency.

I have any number of examples where the app is indicating sun at the exact moment it is pouring with rain outside. I think they aim for a spurious localised accuracy that isn't realistically achievable, especially over longer timeframes, and just ends up with people distrusting it.

The latest throw of the dice (it's getting like Brexit, this ) is that there will be rain, followed by snow... kinda like last Tuesday, I guess. This lot is supposed to go on longer than an hour like last time... warnings in place until 11 tomorrow morning. Went to Westfield to work, had to fight my way through people panic buying the last of supplies to get through the awful weather

Yep - the "local" thing is not achieveable as you say. I watch the rainfall radar on netweather.tv and it only takes the slightest of things to mean you miss rain or end up with a torrential downpour. E17 has had both recently - rain skirting the area by a matter of metres and also ending up under a suddenly much more intense patch of rain because a front has "beefed up" for some reason. Even when it's obvious it's going to be tipping down the BBC site can show a forecast of dry weather. The longer timeframe thing is a bit bonkers really - by all means have a longer term outlook but it's clear that's always caveated. Trying to do hourly timeband forcasts for 14 days hence is mad.

Well, that was over quickly... mostly rain, all but gone. Saves scraping the windscreen tomorrow, I guess. Wednesday looks sunny, but allegedly the snow returns on Thursday. It felt quite warm tonight so not surprised nothing happened compared to last week.
