After 11 years of operation, Rotala-owned Wessex Bus is ceasing operations in Bristol after Saturday 1st September, citing reduced business opportunities which no longer warrant the overheads for the size of the operation. It has already lost routes in Bath upon retendering.
All existing driving and engineering staff will transfer under TUPE to Stagecoach West's Bristol Depot, along with routes 3 (and variants), 11/11A, 508, 513/514, 515, 625 and the TSB Shuttle. Routes 10, 12, 42 and 51 have been deregistered and will not be operated by Stagecoach.
