With high winds (gusts up to 70mph) and heavy rain forecast for Sunday 9th February, Network Rail will impose speed restrictions across large parts of the rail network.
All Train Operating Companies now have Travel Advisories in place. Some are advising passengers not to travel on Sunday 9th February. Grand Central has cancelled all its services and most trains operated by Transport for Wales in South Wales will not operate.
Some rail replacement buses will be standing by, but some operators have said quite explicitly that they will not be providing replacement road transport if their services are not able to operate.
Tickets dated for Sunday 9th February are being accepted by most TOCs for travel on Saturday 8th February and Monday 10th February. Passengers who choose not to travel can apply for a full refund.

The papers are going to town with this already I stopped reading as soon as I saw 'Ilford, Essex'. You'd think the article was written before 1965.

As to be expected loads of bus routes are on diversion due to falling down trees. The Man City vs West Ham game has also been cancelled.

Here in Devon, Stagecoach are operating single deckers only today on their rural routes.
Cross Country Trains are not operating south of Bristol, tickets will be accepted on Great Western Railway services. There are no through trains between London and Cornwall, a shuttle service is operating between Plymouth and Penzance.

Loads of problems on Theamslink:
East Croydon - Due to flying debris in front of the station, Tramlink are not calling at East Croydon station until further notice. The front entrance to the station has been closed for safety reasons, so passengers will need to use the side entrance to access the station.
Dartford - A section of the station roof is being damaged by high winds. For safety reasons, trains in the area are currently at a stand. Erith - Tree on the line. Lines are currently blocked and trains are unable to move forward.
Greenwich - Speed board on the line. Lines are currently blocked and trains are unable to move forward.
Fareham - Another tree on the line in the area. Teams are on route to clear the obstruction. Eastbourne - Platform 3 is currently closed due to a collapsed roof. Trains will be diverted into other platforms until further notice.
West Norwood - Plastic sheet blown onto the track. This could cause delays in the area.

I've just seen some dramatic footage on BBC news of a tree coming down in Buckingham Palace Road in front of a National Express coach.
