The bus used on Doctor Who¹ as the 200 got extensive roof damage on its way to its shooting location abroad. Rather than replace or repair the vehicle they decided to incorporate that damage into the story, which involved the bus going through a spacial rift to another planet. ¹ ‐ episode called Planet Of The Dead from 2009 I had no idea. That is exactly the kind of juicy trivia that I live for. Many thanks! You welcome! As it goes I'm as much an enthusiast in Doctor Who as I am on the buses. Adding to that the 200 is one of my local bus routes so it was a bit of a double-pleasure watching that story.

Season 2, Episode 13 ("Archangel") of NCIS: Los Angeles includes 2 ex London buses (RM & I think Metrobus) (Both now potentially sightseeing buses in LA) Link to episode:https://putlocker9.ru/film/ncis-los-angeles-season-2-2010-1080p/watching.html?episode_id=21886&s=oserver (Yes this is a slightly shady site , make sure to have O server selected and Adblock on! (H server doesn't work with Adblock on)) There is a scene inside the bus, just got this screenshot from the intro You've actually solved a mystery for me with that - when I first started thinking about putting this thread together, I had a very vague recollection of a scene in an American TV show involving an open-top red bus... but I just couldn't remember any more specific details, and it's been driving me slightly cuckoo for the last couple of days. That NCIS episode is exactly what I was thinking of! Thank you!!

I would recommend this Facebook page (not mine) www.facebook.com/Buses-on-Screen-237615250651/Stumbled upon it whilst looking for a Cbeebies episode of Topsy & Tim that my little sisters used to watch which involved 2 MM's hired from Sullivans Buses on fictional routes, an in service LU DPS & DE on the H22 (front shot was of DPS but rear of DE) and also spotted an in service LU Scania Omnicity on the other side of the road youtu.be/T7RAnH74Kyg

What about the famous EastEnders market bus crash? I believe a couple were used in that, Metroline’s TA644 being one for definite. NOT my photo images.app.goo.gl/5JD5JiV3Yoqvh1tT8Oh my... I tried to bury my memory of that episode. The whole thing was so contrived and clumsily executed - I found it unbearable to watch for all the wrong reasons!

Nice thread idea. Something related to this thread. I noticed on a few adverts or tv programmes quite often the bus used is an old RATP SLE. For example a recent Barclays bank advert had one and also on the TV drama manhunt the bus is also an SLE. Barclays advert. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eF69CuQ-6xI Nice spot! I don't remember a scene in Manhunt involving an SLE... but that did remind me of another bus appearance in the same show: an E5 pulling up at the 'Medway Parade' bus stop in Perivale. The angles from which the bus was filmed don't clearly show any identifying markings (fleet number, registration etc.), but the side 'E5' blind is just about visible. There were also many background appearances of local buses that were in service when they were filming scenes on Twickenham Green. I actually remember while watching it at time it was good how they was actually using a bus that actually operates in the Twickenham area obviously I'm sure it was just pure luck. There was another scene but I can't find it but here while the police are reviewing the CCTV the bus in question is an SLE. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFeBCuR2h6M

Most seen routes/buses on TV has to be LTs on the 3 and 87 as this is where news crews place their cameras when reporting from Parliment Square.

Do you mean Royal Courts of Justice? No routes go past the Old Bailey. Yep. The 11 is actually quite synonymous with going past places that relate to law as it goes past or close to. THE Supreme court, The house of parliment, Scotland Yard, Royal courts of justice and the old bailey Another one you could add is the 15 as that passes three of those places as well as the Tower of London. Sorry know if gone a bit off track here.

Route 15 used to run regularly via Albert Square in EastEnders but the service seems to have been cut in the last 10 years I believe the 22 used to go there as well. I also seem to remember part of a London Buses garage seen in the show's earlier years, which looked to have already been closed due to cutbacks. There was an early episode of The Bill where the police were called to Westbourne Park Bus Garage¹ in relation to a drunk bus driver smashing up the depot then nicking a DMS bus to then smash it into somebody's front yard. The drunk was played by the same actor who played Boycie in Only Fools and Horses. ¹ - not sure what the fictional garage name was
