Due to the works to rebuild the Old Street Roundabout, Old Street Station will become exit-only in the morning peak from Monday 2nd November. This is expected to be in force for nine months. During the closure, passengers wiching to join trains are advised to head to Moorgate for the Great Northern services, and to either Moorgate or Angel for the Northern Line. When the work is completed, there will be a new main entrance on what is currently the roundabout, accessible from the north-west side of the roundabout which will be pedestrianised. Three of the four current extrances will be closed off (the Northern Subway will be retained) and replaced by signal-controlled crossings at street level, plus a new entrance/exit subway that will open directly onto Cowper Street (to the south-east). It's a useful subway and saves having to cross a busy inter-section at street level. I thought Old Street was pretty quiet in these Covid times, pleased to hear that the station is getting such high usage that it is will be exit only.
