Who? Ian Wright, former footballer. Played for Arsenal and Palace as well as a bunch of clubs in the late 80s- early 2000s

The Suffragette Line is such a mouthful and not really approachable spelling wise. I appreciate the rationale but this does not feel like the right choice
The Mildmay Line is a nice name but the reasoning feels geographically off, for such a long route it feels like it only reflects one small section of the line.
The Liberty Line is probably the best of the bunch
The other 3 are not the best but also not the worst

Shouldn’t the windrush line be called Mildway line? That’s the line that runs through Hoxton and Shoreditch as it fits the description better for their reasoning of the names. In my opinion, these names were not what I was expecting and I don’t really like any of them.

I like the names. All of them have significant meaning to London and its communities.

Liberty is a bit of a nothing name. But yay - no more confusion when ‘London Overground delays’ is announced and you’re scrabbling around to find out if it’s your journey that is subject to problems!

I don't mind Windrush and Liberty, I’m indifferent to the others. I’m just glad to have the separate colours, though one of the lines should have remained orange, either the 'Mildmay Line' or the 'Windrush Line' I would have loved the East London Line to be the Brunel line, but Windrush is... fine. Lioness is... OK... too, I know some people wanted the East London Line to be named after some rando footballer. Suffragette will always be Goblin to me and will continue to be named by me as such, sorry ladies. All in all, it’s… just... fine. (I have to claim partial credit for having the London Overground lines as separate colours, I've had that concept on my personal metro map since 2014 )

I’m not quite local to Romford but I had previously knowledge of its(or Havering) links with the name Liberty. Just another TfL 'what shall we waste money on next' exercise for me and the Suffragette Line in particular just sounds ridiculous, it'll probably be nicknamed the suffering line.
If lines need to be named then surely Line A,B,C etc would have been far simpler?
As for travel bulletins surely it would help if it was announced that problems on LO means no service between Sydenham and Crystal Palace for example just as it would be announced on the big railway?

His head needs a wobble this is a ridiculous waste of money , if they had to of been remamed should of been named on areas they serve i.e , North London Line , Emerson Line , East London Line , South London Line , Lea Valley Lines , Watford Line , Goblin Line ( although Weavers line goes by Weavers field so sort of justifiable but most people wont know that so ? ) Also does this mean all trains will get repainted ? What happens when they need to do transfers if this is the case ? And all the money on changing signs and maps at stations when there is a money crisis what a load of nonsense , can see the Daily Mail headline now " Sadiqs "Woke" railway lines " 😂 honestly ridiculous IMO .

These line names are awful and just pandering to society. Absolutely terrible names.

The trains won’t be repainted any more than Underground trains will, I’d have thought. They’ll all need new line diagrams but that won’t cost anything like as much. I suspect the new names will all stick. Many said that they wouldn’t use the name ‘Elizabeth line’ but we all do….

Thanks for sharing this and the link to the explanation of the word 'Liberty' - I'm sure this will go down well in Romford and Hornchurch also on the Wiki page... Also learnt that regarding Havering-atte-Bower (served by the high-frequency 375) "atte-Bower was added and means 'at the royal residence"
