Thanks for sharing, this is actually a great bit of publicity for the route. There are some nice bus articles on that website too.

The article says: An end-to-end journey costs just £1.55 thanks to the TfL Hopper fare, although no journey completes the entire 24 miles in the 62 minutes required to make a connection for the same price.
That still represents incredible value-for-money given that a 260 metre trip from Leicester Square to Covent Garden on the Tube costs £2.40.
A full journey on the X26 is 148 times longer than a journey from Leicester Square to Covent Garden. (24 / 0.1625) A journey on the Piccadilly line from Leicester Square to Covent Garden is £14.77 per mile A journey on the X26 is £0.06 per mile Therefore the X26 is 229 times cheaper than the Piccadilly line!
I always thought buses were cheaper than trains, but not that cheap!
By comparison: The X26 operating a length of 0.1625 miles (Leicester Square to Covent Garden) is £0.01, whilst the Piccadilly line operating the length of the X26 is £354.48
Of course that's not how transport fares work, but just a comparison to see what the fares would be like if distance travelled was proportional to costs

Before i opened the thread I thought it was about the good old 25 from Oxford Circus to ilford! I had similar thoughts about the 5 Romford to Canning Town.

Some of the articles aren’t particularly well researched on that site None of the information will be new to members of this forum, and indeed there will be things that the purists disagree with or feel they could write better themselves. However, from a public news perspective it’s refreshing to see a London news outlet give useful articles on bus services the time of day. Usually buses only make the news for negative reasons…strikes, COVID, anti-social behaviour, cuts, fare increases etc. The X26 article is just the sort of communications we need to help raise awareness of bus connections to the next generation of users.

That one's not actually a bad article, but isn't the 969 technically allocated a dual door E200?

Never said nothing about the stuff being new to us on here, I can happily enjoy stuff I already know - my point is if you read some of the articles, they aren’t particularly researched well and if we are going to get people interested in buses which is a losing battle due to the powers that be effectively swinging towards a, “stuff London buses” agenda, at least provide the right information Whilst it’s nice to see positive news, they also aren’t immune to publishing negative news such as the 14 being the slowest route currently and then listing a few others to built

The journalist thinks, that the 8.9m e200mmc that he is on, has one door, because the fact that there are so few passengers means that it will not be disruptive, 'It's one of the rare London buses without a middle door, as passengers per bus are so low boarding and alighting from the same door is not disruptive.' He obviously hasn't done his research!
