The London Marathon is returning to London's streets on Sunday 3rd October. Streets in South-East, East and Central London will be closed from 06.30 and will be reopened in stages from 13.00 when it is safe to do so. Bus routes in the affected areas will be diverted or curtailed short of their usual destinations. A few routes will not operate at all during the Marathon. The DLR will operate an enhanced service until 16.00, then a normal Sunday service. Residents in the Rotherhithe, Wapping, Isle of Dogs and Canary Wharf will be most affected by the closures and there are special arrangements in place for these areas. One already happened in Hackney not too long ago that was Sunday gone (Hackney), however Hackney is a half marathon, not the same distance of 26.2 miles which the London marathon is.
