I notice over the past few months Victoria line trains are extremely dirty externally. They never used to be in this state. Has the train wash packed in, or are they washing them less to save money

Have 09TS been through refurb yet.Interiors starting to look a bit ropey. I have also noticed the seats are ingrained in dirt, some are changed. I tend to sit on the newer ones that have been replaced probably down to spillage, vandalism, faeces etc. It is a shame operators do not use shampoo cleaning machines on moquette as they can easily be bought back clean. Some of the flooring on the 09 stock is also raising creating vacuum bubbles underneath. Surely this can easily be cut at the point with a blade then injected with sealant and stuck back down flat.

Sure they had several versions of seating before the latest refurb. By the late 2000s the original 59 1996 stock trains on the line (along with their 7th car, but not the four whole trains built new in 2005) received the dark blue moquette as also fitted to the Northern and Piccadilly's fleets around that time. Other stock also had their seat moquette replaced with new designs during the 2000s, such as the A and C stocks - their new versions using similar colours to before but to new patterns - while the D stock's original orange and brown moquette was finally replaced only a few years before their refurbishment began.

I remember I found it a waste for the D stock to get a new moquette in 2002 to replace the original Leyland Titan/MCW Metrobus moquette. This only lasted for about 4 years for it to be changed when they started sending the trains away to be refurbished.
