It does nothing and is merely just a CV tick box exercise for the mayor. Also there is still advertising on the National Rail network within London and various other billboards. I cannot say these adverts make me go and buy the food, more interesting to watch or read than anything else.

These adverts wouldn't persuade me go and buy junk food either but I guess they're mainly aimed at children and they must be effective or McDonald's, KFC etc wouldn't be willing to pay for the adverts.

I think the point here is advertising for junk food exists everywhere and not just on transport so really has just removed extra revenue it could of done with and I donβt believe those figures itβs helped reduce obesity at all. If people want to reduce obesity, education rather than banning stuff is the way to go

Not for me π
People aren't sheep. Just leave us alone to eat what we want and worry about your own life. Thanks Sadiq.

Depends how much you think people are influenced by advertising. No one's forcing them to buy it; it's a personal choice. Sadiq isn't my nanny. Both threads are ongoing issues, no?

It's a no brainer, if people weren't influenced by advertising then there would be no point in paying for advertising!

Advertising is more about specific brand familiarity than hypnotising people to buy that type of product. If people are going to eat 'junk food' (subjective term anyway), they're still going to do it.
