That's quite a radical scheme. Of course the only real way to sort out the South Circular Road through Catford would be to put it in a massive tunnel.

That's quite a radical scheme. Of course the only real way to sort out the South Circular Road through Catford would be to put it in a massive tunnel. Originally the council wanted to demolish Laurence House. This new idea seems much better than demolishing that building. The only thing that is going upset people is that the Bus Stops outside the Town Hall will be removed, very similar to when the Lewisham Police Station stop was removed.

Having look at the maps in much more detail now here are my comments.
This new system whenever it is implemented will make traffic flow much easier for vehicles.
The walking distance between the Train Stations to the new bus stops on Sangley Road is quite a walking distance especially for the 160 & 320
The Bus Stop outside the Catford Broadway is permanently removed so the 75 & 185 will have a long distance between stops.
171 & 320 will no longer have to loop the Catford One Way System.
No Right Turn from Sangley Road to Rushey Green forces more traffic onto Brownhill Road.

Maybe it’s me and my memories of the (slow and painful) removal of the Aldgate gyratory but I am not a big fan of this although concede that something needs to be done to mitigate the logjam in the area
My key objections are as follows: - again, a scheme which arguably disadvantages bus users. While it’s fairly neutral for north - south buses, it’s now a fairly chunky walk between consecutive bus stops for the 75, 185, 202, 160, 181, 284 (plus 171/320). If you have something near the current gyratory it will be a very long walk now vs. What the current set up is currently; so much for caring about the needs of the less mobile! Also shows that bus users are at the bottom of the hierarchy - it’s hidden in the FAQs but apparently the lewisham disabled council has recommended a moratorium on shared pedestrian and cycle zones. Despite this, the plan incorporates shared spaces. So much for caring! - those no left / no right turns (Sangley road no right turn into browning road, sangley road no right turn onto A21, no right turn from Bromley road onto sangley road, no left turn from rusher green onto sangley road) will make things tough and will see people taking more adventurous roads. Cue the morons at lewisham council introducing more LTNs - the number of additional signals thrown in will wreak havoc - very few lanes left for traffic. I dread to think of traffic getting worse on sangley road in that limb leading to the A21. It’s going to be gridlock the entire day there - south circular going to 20mph (known) but A21 to Bromley also going to 20mph - lewisham council staff have a car park? Why aren’t they walking / cycling into work and how dare they stay more than 15 min away??? Hope all their cars are non compliant!
My simple solution would have been to make a new road through the car park just as outlined, but to make it one way westbound. Then the existing south circular can become one way eastbound. Would make for broader lanes and free flowing traffic. Something would still need to be done about the area in front of the stations but overall things will move faster

I have one question if there's no right turn from Bromley Road into sangley Road where is the 660 supposed to and stop? Apart from Bromley Road?
