Ah, this might explain why there were a few suits wandering round Tilmanstone depot recently. Lot of cheap space they can expand into there.

What if a certain well known TfL operator picked up the depot? Would be perfect to house some of their Croydon routes like the 450 and 157? Gillingham would also be perfect for their soon to be started Fastway services in Kent.

Base for any operator to pick up, beleive it is bigger than the current Stagecoach base. I once considered the coaches at the Sydenham depot, joining other ex-London drivers trying to entice me over. Its shed size, entrance and layout is somewhat like a roofless version of Merton Garage. Would certainly be a potential asset for a TfL operator.

I think that covering at the front might have to go to accommodate double deckers though. It doesn’t look very tall.

I imagine modification of its clearance would be enough if they wanted to keep that overhead structure.

Gillingham would also be perfect for their soon to be started Fastway services in Kent. Could certainly help free up some space at garages to the west, plus also generally bridging the gap between NX/C/MB/etc. Might make it cheaper to run certain routes like the 227?

Definitely would, I wonder what the capacity would be if it converted to TfL?

National Express are currently trialling the brand new Yutong GTe14 fully electric coach on services out of Stansted Airport. YD24EUB shown at Stratford while working on the Route A9 I spotted this coach on Sunday afternoon coming off the A406 at Beckton heading towards the westbound A13. It looked very smart and must have only been in service a few days as it looked extremely new and absolutely spotless.
