I agree although in defence of Arriva, it at least is remotely connected to buses even if it's not Arrive and I think it's has a nice ring to it

I agree with them, stupid name imo. Just as bad as Optare now Switch Mobility; absolutely pathetic. Always some clowns in the boardroom trying to re-invent the wheel.

Words that are ambiguous in their pronunciation are never good names to give a company.

It just causes confusion, if you said 'ar-RYE-va' to me I wouldn't understand you were talking about Arriva! Returning to Mobico, it could be pronounced 'mo-BEE-co' or 'MOH-bi-co' or 'mo-BI-co' or 'MO-bi-co' and you'll then run into misunderstandings when people don't know they're talking about the same company! You can't really go wrong with National Express.

I used to pronounce it like that, until I heard people saying it with Ree instead of RYE.

Hi guys, May I ask something about National express.....why national express withdrew in wigan few year ago? it is due with coronavirus right? Thank you Martyn I know that operations were suspended during lockdown but that services only progressively returned, not covering every route or every stop. Even quite a few services now have different route numbers than they had before.

National Express continues its bounce back after Covid, with further uplifts in service levels in March and July. National Express is planning to add 130 new coaches to the network in 2023 and is expecting 21 million passenger journeys, up from 16 million in 2022. This is despite stiff competition from a rapidly-expanding Flixbus. This seems to be harming neither operator, indeed both are benefiting from a surge in demand for coach travel which is being driven by modal shift caused by rail strikes and the increased cost of motoring. www.route-one.net/news/natex-service-uplift-as-scheduled-coach-grows-again/

National Express is offering free travel to people who are being repatriated from Greece and have landed at a different airport to the one they were originally booked to. Passengers should present their boarding passes, and proof of the original flight booking.
National Express will also allow passengers to change existing bookings without charge if their flight plans have been disrupted and they have had to return on a different day or at a different time.
