Quite interesting. This has been mentioned before but never confirmed. I can only assume this is why the 226 went to BT over the 13, and why the 113 result is delayed. EW is very nearly fully electric (142/204/251 plus 113 result imminent - only 240 left) but BT still has a fair bit to go. Not to mention that 288/303/340/H11/H14 are about to start 7 year contracts with existing vehicles - I understand some vehicles will be stationed at CP or SO but not all of them can fit.

Very interesting. I wonder how the size of the new bus garage will compare to the combined EW / BT. Will it still be split across two Operators?
Certainly some advantages, but I do have concerns about an underground bus garage. Sure there's no diesel, but what if, and may it never ever happen, there were a battery fire on a bus in the underground garage?
As for the 29 story tower block of flats, do people really still want these giant tower blocks? Also not clear how much social housing there is in the overall scheme.

I suspect we'll see a lot more of this in the future and presumably WN will be something similar? I'm sure satisfactory fire arrangements will be put in place and there are many blocks of flats with car parks underneath now.

Also not clear how much social housing there is in the overall scheme. The second link attached says they are targeting 35% social housing on page 4.

Looks good overall, but yes, the bus station does seem a bit on the small side even accounting for not all services using it. In particular there appears to be a significant lack of stand space compared to the current arrangement - unless buses on terminating routes would stand in the new garage?

The current bus station is looking pretty tired so a refresh is definitely needed, West Croydon bus station was similarly terrible before the rebuild. The new bus station look inadequately small for the number of routes which serve Edgware, leaving me to wonder if it will just be used by buses in a westbound direction. I hope there is enough space at the new bus station for buses to easily move through it rather than clogging it up. The lights at the current Edgware bus station can be tedious with too many buses clogging up the road to enter it.

It’s difficult enough to get one above a shop let alone a working bus garage.
