They'd probably get destroyed anyway because of antisocial behaviour True but years ago public toilets were everywhere just have a attendant and charge 50p so people can "spend a penny" the lack of public toilets is shocking , even portaloos at certain locations and those porta urinals would do .

At my local station Uxbridge there isn't even a toilet, at Ruislip they have limited opening hours too. From my observations I've only really noticed 50p charges in more central locations like Green Park (can't remember whether this was at the station though). In my opinion you shouldn't have to pay to use the toilet, its a basic human right.

I remember how there was one toilet set in Victoria Station which had a toll yet there were others also inside the station which were free! It's been years so I don't know if that's still going on

I do not condone people from urinating in the streets. For years since the late 90's councils have been shutting toilets, selling some for housing etc. The worst case was Waltham Forest that closed the popular Chingford Mount toilets that was also used a lot by drivers, as at the time they were saying it cost £50k to run, but then were splashing way more than that on pathetic BS vanity based stuff. Drivers then just urinated in the streets and I fully support them doing that when you get councils who do this and could not give two f####'s

What's worse is they do it right where our shutter at work is located and where we move cages outside ready for the delivery trucks to take them away. So whilst I agree about the council, it still doesn't give anyone the right to do it in the street

Although this isn't really the case in inner London (specifically zone 1 and parts of zone 2), there are plenty of parks and open spaces in outer London where it is possible to find a bush for men to urinate at away from traffic and people.

Agreed no one should have to pay , but justifys keeping it clean and also keeps drug users and the like away if I remember rightly that's why lots were closed down in the 90s ? But it is quite shocking In this day and age the lack of public toilets in London but also have to take into account the threat level aswell .

Drifting out a bit when I last went to Paris I got some coins out for the portaloo to then discover it was free. Mind you that was about five years ago so not sure if that's still the case.

Network Rail made toilets on their managed stations free in 2019. It is unusual to find a toilet on the National Rail network now that charges.

I think free toilets on NR started before the pandemic. I can't really see any justification in charging for toilets other than to deter anti social behaviour.

It's just disgusting and it's more embarrassing when they just show off to just get attention from other people. I also agree, it's so annoying when they do it when there's a public toilet within close distance. Myself though I'll be honest, I ain't the biggest fan of public toilets as they just smell horrible with people just taking liberties. Much prefer my own home toilet lol. I also do agree about the council and like you said it doesn't give any people the right. If it's a little child, then I can sort of understand but grown up adults, no excuse whatsoever.
