My mottos for Abellio: “You want thrash and kickdown, come to Abellio.” Why? They don’t use RIBAS (on most vehicles [correct me if I’m wrong]) and use a system based off of motion (any Abellio workers feel free to sue me for fraud if I’m wrong). And yet not every Abellio driver actually drives like that. Indeed and the ones that do don't last very long. Safety and respect for the company's assets are paramount.

Exactly - the only thing I will say though is a lot of the rough driving ones do seem to drive the 3 & 159 and their LT's seem to be more worn out compared to the 59. The conspiracy theorist in me would say that could be down to the assets not being owned by Abellio and with work undertaken by Wrightbus?

Which buses at Abellio are capable of "thrash and kickdown?" If anything, Abellio are very proficient at having their vehicles tuned down to avoid this sort of thing. Even the Volvos had their kickdowns programmed out of the ECU! Nowadays it's mostly hybrids, subdued Enviros and performance restricted E200 MMCs. Probably not all the garages, but I find garages with E200s (TF,WL,WS) normally have very thrashy drivers. What surprised me is that the K1 and K3 E200s both have kickdown on them’

As far as I'm concerned the thrashes ended with the departure of the TAs and general downtuning of their E40Ds.

All there is now is a small number of Allison E200s, but they don't quite have the character of the TAs! On that note, I am considering driving one of a couple of V reg Tridents from Crystal Palace to Oxford Circus then to Bromley North Station via Brixton, Crystal Palace and Park Langley in the evening on Saturday the 6th April. The occasion being ULEZ putting a stop to the fun and games in the central area!

Regarding 2001-5, any confirmation on whether their gearboxes are Voith or ZF spec'd? Most likely, the 207’s 5 new buses will be on Voith. Confirmation that they are on Voith with 2001 in service on the 427. youtu.be/OgTeSV6rx24Performance wise it's as if the Volvos have returned lol

TLB refers to both routes E10 & E11 gaining 9.0m Enviro 200-MMCs now. So much for the upgrade of route E10 to larger buses.
As Metroline suddenly receive longer buses than intended for route 393, Abellio are suddenly due to receive shorter buses for route E10 than initially chosen.

I find it funny that it was this forum that originally realised that cock up between the length intended for 393 and what was received. Still can’t believe how precautionary and measures weren’t taken to eliminate such mess

I'm not sure. Maybe if building work has not yet started on the 10.5m examples Abellio can just amend the order without repercussions or penalty.

I thought that 9.7 metre E200s were ordered? Anyway, if they are 10.5m, the better as more people can get on. I do hope they make frequent visits to the E5, if possible.

The original order was for 10.5m but the order was recently changed to 9.0m presumably due to a possible cancellation of the E10's capacity upgrade otherwise I can't fathom why they'd change the length A shame as the E10 certainly warrants something bigger at least.

Absolute cracking driver on the K1 today, running no. 67 at New Malden the Fountain... well I’ll let the stats explain (1=Poor 10=The Best)
Customer Service:11
Driving: 9
Stopping: 8
Humour: 9
Speed: 10
I also noticed whilst he was making an announcement referring to himself as ‘Captain Jack Sparrow’, a new iBus screen came up, saying ‘Announcement in progress’. Anyone know when this came along?
PS. K1 for Everyone! (reference to the driver)
