Just walked past BC and saw withdrawn 9067 on the back of a Sovereign truck ready to be towed away to potentially its final resting place. Got some snaps of it too which I’ll upload later, all blinds had been removed. 8207 looks to have been involved in an accident as I saw it missing a front end and awaiting repairs Pics of 9067 awaiting to be towed away from BC can be found below: front rear

Why are the 68 and 211 switching fleets

Many think that the 68's batch are going to RATP when the 211 passes to RATP next week. It'd make sense because the two are swapping buses. It'd also make the 68's batch the first batch to have had three different operators

They might even send the 68 batch back!

I presume by these moves you're referring to the 27 and 211 going in opposite directions?

I don't think they are, they're constantly out on the 3/68/N3. The 68's not seen a non LT working since it's GAL days. I think it may be an situation of Abellio possibly wanting to keep the LTs that are native to them, and getting rid of as many second hand LTs as soon as possible? Either way, some of the 68's original LTs will remain with Abellio, considering the 68's TVR is higher than the 211s.

Part of the reason the 68 hasn't seen a conventional in its time at WL is because WL have so many LTs and prioritise keeping the 3 and 68 100% LT and can use the 415's LTs if needs be. I do concede that the idea that Abelllio want to keep their native LTs is a more likely one

Bit of a silly idea, as later in the year RATP send some to Abellio (routes 27 and 267) and if they are poor, RATP could swap their fleet around and send them all back, along with their worst ones.

I imagine its TfL's idea on which LTs go where as they own those particular buses.

Confirmed by LOTS....
"Abellio has been swapping batches of LTs between Battersea and Walworth garages so as to get a particular batch ready for the change of operator of route 211 next Saturday 29th from Abellio to London United."

To get a particular batch ready wonder what for? Presumably to bring the relevant buses back up to a satisfactory condition prior to handing over to RAPT, somewhat like what operators do prior to returning vehicles back off lease.
