Abellio has certainly been very successful the last few years. I find it amazing that all the routes that are going to be at GW, they didn’t operate a few years ago. All won, either directly or indirectly, at the expense of Metroline All have to be fought for again at re-tender time, so could still all be rather short to medium term. But yes they’ve done very well. Let’s hope not too well too quick,

Well done Abellio for taking another route off Metroline (Route 482.) Where do you think it will be run from? According to a reliable source it's WS

These new caetano buses remind me of the caetano citysmart buses that NAT operate in wales They also reminded me a bit of Arriva EcoCities in Darlington & Runcorn.

Abellio's 6 garages all have different heritages:
GW ha originated with Abellio but
BC originated with Connex QB originated with Limebourne TF originated with TGM WL originated with National Express (but had been open twice before, for LBL then London & Country/Arriva) WS originated with Wings

As far as I can remember Wings ran from another site in Hayes - possibly Springfield Road? When the bus side of the business was sold to TGM the deal was that TGM could continue to use the base for a while (12-18 months?) but would then have to find their own site. In the event TGM sold out to National Express a year later, and I think it was under NatEx that the buses moved to the current site on North Hyde Road.
Confusingly the garage code seems to have moved with the garage, instead of a new code being used for the new site.

Was WS used as an internal code by TfL before Wings was taken over by TGM? I seem to remember TGM used the TM code for what was the former Wings base (I guess in a similar situation to WK/HH) With the WS code coming back into use following the sale to National Express?

Wasn't half of WS loaned to Wings for a while though?

QB originated with Limebourne If my memory serves me correct Cityrama was based there beforehand in the 80s when they did the 196 and 200. I believe Q Drive was the parent company, 'perhaps' where the QB code may have originated from (Q Drive in Battersea).

Wasn't half of WS loaned to Wings for a while though? That's quite possible. I think the site used to be shared with other operators (City Circle?) but I'm not really sure what the arrangement was. Did NatEx / Abellio own the whole site and rent part of it out, or were they joint tenants with someone else?

What happened to the 207’s allocations since it’s moved to GW and the 427 to WS? Loads and loads of the 427’s vehicles are currently on the 207 despite being from different garages. 2573 has been on the 207 since the 24th July apart from the E1 yesterday (also a GW route) despite being a 427 vehicle. Likewise some of the 207’s 15-reg MMCs (ex-415) are on the 427. Are WS and GW still doing shared vehicles like WS & AB?
Since being at GW also the 12-reg 207 E400s are straying much more now onto the likes of the E1 and E9, for some reason 427 strays were very few and far between despite being EuVI etc whilst at WS.

Route 350 buses 8894b and 8898 actually show GW on the side (and 8898 is currently on the 195). According to Londonbusroutes.net, the plan was 195/207 in GW and 350/U5 in WS. Looks like something has changed.

Although Londonbusroutes.net's Operators and Garages list does suggest the 195/207 haved moved into GW with the 350/U5 into WS. Obviously this doesn't make it true. www.londonbusroutes.net/garages.htm#WS
