Have you spotted a well-known personality on a train or bus or at a station? I'd be interested in your experiences.
In the past I've sat opposite actress Annette Crosbie between Clapham Jcn & Waterloo, studying a script; Enoch Powell at Waterloo one morning walking along a platform and regularly saw John Cole (the Irish newsreader "Mususs Thotcher") at same terminus.
Saw Geoffrey Munn (jewellery Antiques Roadshow) at Victoria one evening and Bill Kenwright (ex Corrie & theatre impresario) also at Waterloo many years ago. Lord Hailsham (Quintin Hogg) at Snaefell summit (IOM) in 1974.
Simon West & Prunella Scales were on a trip we did on 'The Balmoral' in 2003 off the Isle of Wight.

Where do we start, travelled with Michael Howard one night when the no smoking compartments were full up and he had to slum it with the smokers ;D, I used to travel regularly with Lord Aldington and Lord Deedes. Aldington was the central figure in a prominent late-1980s libel case when he sued Count Nikolai Tolstoy over a pamphlet Tolstoy had published claiming that Aldington had sent hundreds of Russians back to their deaths after the second world war. Deedes, well known for his pink socks, was the one time Editor of the Daily Telegraph. Also saw Lord Spens a defendant in the Guiness trial from time to time before he retired and Kevin Godley from 10cc. I also saw Vic and Bob regularly on the train and at Ashford Staion, (Vic Reeves also used to live near me). I also saw Annette Crosby walking over Waterloo Bridge one day. I sat next to Connie Booth (the ex Mrs J Cleese) on the Northern line one day and then saw John Cleese himself in Victoria Street near St James Park Station. Working opposite the Home office and New Scotland Yard, I saw many TV journalists, Ministers and MPs and often saw Paul Boateng in the coffee bar at St James Park Station.
