Do you think the Croydon tram will get a good proposal, which would go through, claiming a extension to Lewisham or Bromley?
What are your plan proposals?
Where should it go after Crystal Palace?
Will the Croydon Tram reach all round London? Why?
Will the Croydon Tram reach in Zone 1? Why?
Will there be a Tram for North London (Enfield, Waltham Cross, Chingford, Lee Valley, Tottenham, Edmonton, Seven Sisters) Since there is not much london underground?
What will be the Croydon Tram new name? Why?
Who will run the tram? First, Arriva? Who?
I really would love to hear, listen and understand your thought about the Croydon Tram!

Interesting that it has recently had its name changed to LONDON Tramlink. Is there a hidden message there?

It only means that it is now owned by TfL, and they have rebranded it to fit in with their other 'brands'.
Any chance of it expanding now seems further away than ever. The Mayor's new business plan for TfL over the next decade basically killed off any projects that are not currently under construction. This included the planned Tramlink extension to Crystal Palace, and so has now been dropped.

What will be the Croydon Tram new name? Why? Who will run the tram? First, Arriva? Who? I really would love to hear, listen and understand your thought about the Croydon Tram! Well firstly I seriously doubt that it would ever extend to the rest of London, OR Zone 1, for the reasons that 'Someone' has already mentioned. Not forgetting the HUGE amount of disruption caused by building tram lines - when the Tramlink was first built, Croydon basically turned from a large suburban town into a large building site. There is plently of Underground services in North London - in fact that area is much better served than South London, which has very few tube stations compared with North. South London has to make do with a large number of National Rail services instead. So my answer to your question will there ever be a tram for North London would be no. (I'm assuming you're talking about a tram JUST for North London and not running into Zone 1 or anywhere else like that ) It only means that it is now owned by TfL, and they have rebranded it to fit in with their other 'brands'. Any chance of it expanding now seems further away than ever. The Mayor's new business plan for TfL over the next decade basically killed off any projects that are not currently under construction. I should hope not!

I was a Livingstone voter, but even i know that he won't get back. Anyway, let's be fair to BoJo, it's not his fault, or Ken's really, that projects have had to be dropped. It's the financial world we are living in at the moment that's killing any expansion off.

Ken was good as he was Pro-transport schemes, whereas prat Boris, being a typical tory has cancelled all schemes that cost his party. Although I like in the fact that he was unsupportive of the Heathrow expansion.

Why would anyone (travelling to CENTRAL London) want to endure a bus ride to Lewisham, change onto the DLR, perhaps another change en route, to finally arrive at Bank, where interchange facilities for other parts of town are pretty poor anyway? As for the parts of the quoted post about the Croydon Tramlink encircling London, I think that needs to go in the 'dream on' box!

I am a tram lover myself, but given the ENORMOUS capital expense, common sense needs to prevail. The suggestions being made for extensions of the Croydon system (such as ALL ROUND LONDON) just make a laughing stock of the idea of tramways in the eyes of those who DO want to see sensible suggestions. As for the 2012 hype, this is for a total of eleven weeks only. One of the tennets made for transport infrastructure upgrades and modifications was what service it would provide to the local community AFTER 2012. Unfortuunately, the Croydon tramlink suggestions are just a stretch too far! What such money really needs to be spent on is the much discussed River Thames bridging point at Beckton to Erith.
